♫ Trash80 - Missing You This is my jam . And also, non-coincidentally, the first track I showed Brandon to give him a look at my musical taste. My name is Taylor, and I'll be helping bring in even more awesome tunage to TBE from this point forward. Consider this our very informal e-introduction. Trash80 is a chiptune (or bitpop if we're being specific) musician hailing from San Diego, CA. A pioneer in his craft, Trash80 makes some serious [...]

I like electronic music. That's a very superhero-ey thing to like, I suppose, isn't it? I like avant-garde music in general. Cage, Stockhausen, Penderecki, Andrew Lang, Pierre Henry. Terry Riley is very good. Oh, and I've heard some interesting new music from Jamaica...a sort of hybrid between electronic music and reggae. It's a fascinating study in the new musical forms generated when a largely pre-technological culture is given access to modern recording techniques wihtout the technological preconceptions that we've allowed to accumulate, limiting our vision. It's called dub music. - Adrian Veidt aka Ozymandias Nerd [...]

Normally Trixie brings you all the hot chiptunes jams, but since she's off being important, I figured I'd step up to plate this time. Maybe you've noticed the banner added to the top of our site about a month ago? Well that's Blip Festival , and it starts.... TONIGHT! It's international mayhem of the chiptunes variety; taking Game Boys (DMGS), Ataris, Nintendos, 8-bit emulator VSTs, Commodore 64s, Nintendo DS's (and just about anything else you can think of), our stalwart adventurers hack, slash and tweak the hardware in ways mere mortals thought impossible, creating [...]

Oh, hai guise... Ok, ok, ok. First of all, I'm not going to do the usual "...trixie shows up and apologizes for not posting for three months" thing because, honestly, I've been busy working on my life long dream of being the female, short, blonde, American version of Tony Wilson, and that's why you haven't seen me in awhile. I'm still working hard bringing people new music, I've just kind of limited my scope to the "live" and "NYC" part of that job. You guys wouldn't believe how hard it is to jump on to Res and write a post [...]

Trash80 initiated his addiction to computer music in the summer of 1990 - about the same time his interest was sparked for the opposite sex. Coincidence? Probably not. The beauty of it was that he recognized this obvious connection early on and decided to use his love of composition to gain the interest of an unsuspecting female audience. In response to someone who once brought up this connection, Trash80 replied, " Its not about getting girls man, its about my love of music and getting dumped for it. " Dive onto the dance floor with a hybrid [...]
