Thanks to all of you, who posted comments on my Friday blurbs . I guess it has been vetoed that I should continue writing in English, so I'll let the discussion rest...for now. @ Sara - saw your small plea in your blog, and it will be added to the blogroll very soon. @ Tolga - your blogs will be added as well. @ Strangeisthenewfruit - sadly I never found out more about The Fridaynight Club . But it still is a [...]

Travel By Sea , a band that I reviewed over a year ago on thishere blog has been signed to Autumn Tone. Autumn Tone is a label run by the folks at the great music blog An Aquarium Drunkard . The fantastic Shadows Rise will be reissued by Autumn Tone followed by a new album by the end of Summer titled Days of My Escape . Congratulations, guys! Click Here for "Complete Shakeup" from Shadows Rise

My good friend and one of the best music sites on the internet, Aquarium Drunkard , has signed another band to his label, Autumn Tone , and is reissuing their debut album. That band is Travel By Sea and the album is entitled Shadows Rise . You can buy it here . Shortly on it's heels, Autumn Tone will release Travel By Sea's follow up album, Days [...]

Our good friend Justin Gage has reissued Travel By Sea 's debut LP, Shadows Rise , on his very own fledgling Autumn Tone label. I believe the two members of Travel By Sea (one in California and one in Colorado) completed this LP before they'd ever met in person, piecing together the hushed, deceptively complex songs that make up the album via the internet, which makes it all the more remarkable. mp3: Travel By Sea Complete Shakeup [...]

The Painting of Colorado's Garden of the Gods Colorado Springs, CO 12/29/06 following an intense blizzard The songs I assembled for this post were put together through the inspiration of these beautiful pictures. Colorado is under snow right now, but we can all enjoy these breathtaking images! All photographs on [...]

I've had a rough one today, hence the late post. MJ and I woke up to a very sick dog. One of our dogs, Charlie, went to sleep normal last night, like any other night, but woke up in bad shape this morning. We knew something was wrong, so we took him in to the vet. We thought he may have a blockage in his intestine, but it turned out he had liver and gall bladder cancer. His liver had ruptured and he was bleeding internally. They started surgery, but he passed away on [...]

One could think that a duo calling themselves Travel By Sea might have been around the block together for quite some time. But as it is, Kyle Kersten and Brian Kraft actually never met in real life. They've known each other for 4 years, but only from online interactions. Strange new world, isn't it? Their debut album, Shadows Rise , has been created completely by passing thoughts, ideas and recordings from [...]

We had a special guest visiting the loft studios at Little Radio yesterday. Kyle Kersten , one half of rising indie -folk duo Travel By Sea , stopped by The Aquarium Drunkard Show and spent a couple of hours playing unreleased songs off their forthcoming album. We also chatted briefly about the roots of the outfit, and how he and Brian Craft came to work together, production, influences , etc. **Special thanks to Jimmy B for running the board. RIYL : Centro - matic [...]
Welcome. RSL Blog Radio Volume VI This is the music I am listening to right now. We do this once a week from Boston. You reap the benefits. [...]
I stumble upon some of my favorite music finds by accident. A conversation, a late night podcast, an obscure music rag, etc., etc. In this case it was, as happens regularly, by the recommendation of a friend. I know very little about Travel By Sea other than they are an indie-folk songwriting duo that have never met. One of them lives in Colorado -- the other in California . Their compositions are carefully put together piecemeal via the [...]

A glance into the world of story and legend through the eyes of songs… A labor of love! This has been a fun themed music series released on two mp3 blogs. The Chapters: Part I Part II Part III Part IV Part V [...]
so, over the weekend i got a copy of travel by sea's shadows rise , which kyle from the band was kind enough to send my way. to say i dug it more and more with each listen is a bit of an understatement.  its a very understated affair, that is a bit reminiscent of wilco's yankee hotel foxtrot or great lake swimmers' bodies and minds. i would highly recommend it to fans of either of those records. i wont let you down [...]
