In 2012, Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) is gearing up to release his first studio album in four years; first since 2008's Booming Back To You . The Dutch-born, California-based producer and remixer set the tone with last year's lead single, Molly's E . Today, Holkenborg shares a remix of another track from the album, Off The Dancefloor . Better known for their mindfuck performance art (eggs, glitter, feather bombs, mud, liquid latex, spaghetti) Tokyo's electropop band, TRIPPPLE NIPPPLES , renders it anew with their stylized tweaks.
Trippple Nippples might be one of the more interesting band names I've heard recently, but they are from Tokyo, so it kinda makes sense. And Oli Chang has masterfully remixed their tune "Golden Road" and created this picturesque video depicting the snowy Japanese landscape. If you've heard any of the other Trippple Nippples tunes, this one's not so in your face, so soak it in. Sometimes I like Trippple Nippples and sometimes I hate them. Their high energy live shows alone are enough to make you reconsider a creative sound that can (initially) come off as offputting. However, when the group hits gold they hit it in a way that (g)listens undeniably.
