The Oxford band have today announced the release of their eagerly awaited début album, but to put a twist into it they've also announced that the band is to come to an end. The official statement reads... "We know this has taken a long time but our debut album is now finished and ready. After exploring a few different avenues, we have decided that rather than wait any longer we'd like to share it with you and we want you to have [...]

Remember the halcyon days of summer 2010? It was then - almost three years to the day in fact - that Trophy Wife first emerged with their effortlessly breezing, utterly infectious hit "Microlite". Well, that debut album that has seemed to take forever is finally here. Conversely though, turns out it'll also be their last. continue reading >>

Today's bizarre news is brough to you by a talented bunch of guys called Trophy Wife (actually this wins that title...). The Oxford-based band have decided to release their highly anticipated debut album as a 'Pay-What-You-Like' download, which is great, right? Well that bit of good news is backed with the news that they've split up. The full explanation can be found over at Facebook , but the guys noted that "it feels like the right time for us to move on after the release of an album [...]

Trophy Wife are now going to be officially releasing their track "Surfacing". The track was on a Kitsune Comilation CD a while back and now the Oxford band have thought it best to fully release it. The video boasts a new mix of the song, rather than being electronic this version is more acoustic. Follow / [FACEBOOK] Other / [TUMBLR]
Como habitual, por cá fica o resumo do que de mais importante se passou na minha página alternativa do Facebook. A semana esteve carregadinha de temas bastante bons que não se ficaram apenas pelas novidades do ano, mas também por algumas recordações do passado recente. I remember first coming across "Microlite" in it's early demo stage on an extremely sparse Myspace page back in early 2010, Trophy Wife have come a long way since then and new track, "Glue", fully demonstrates that. continue reading >>
A semana teve o seu início assinalando o Record Store Day com a remistura do tema "After You" dos Pulp (c/ James

The Oxford based band have revealed what they've been up to all these months, the outcome is "Heavy Touch". A song that I first heard over 2 years ago down in London. Check out an amazing track right here! Follow / [FACEBOOK] Other / [TUMBLR]

Unfortunately a turn of fate has found Olivia currently living in London whilst the March festival is in full swing. This leaves our blog without a roaming reporter. Until now that is. The video for Foals' "My Number" gave us a new appreciation for the danceable rock track, and this Trophy Wife remix tilts the scales toward more dance and less rock. Perfect, since I'm entering a dancy-remixes-of-lively-rock-s ongs phase. Trophy Wife keeps it funky with a deep live-sounding bass and plenty of prime slices of beat fit for you bust out your new rapid-hump dance, or whatever moves you're working on. ( 1 For The People )

Trophy Wife, whom we've covered on b3sci a few times , and who's track "Wolf" made our Top 50 tracks of 2011 list return with a very good tropically-inclined dancefloor-ready remix of Foals' great "My Number" single. Foals - My Number (Trophy Wife Remix) Trophy Wife ( Soundcloud ) Rating 8.3

It's been nearly a year since their last release, but now Trophy Wife are back and with a new album not too far off they've got a great song to announce their comeback on. 'Like No Other' features on a split EP with Chad Valley, they both have a original track on the EP then cover each other. The Trophy Wife track is pure Indie gold, with a slightly tropical feel to the guitar tones and the chimes in the background, Jody's vocals just caressing [...]

Chad Valley and Trophy Wife will be releasing a joint 12" on November 26th, where the two artists will cover each other's songs. Listen to the alternate renditions of 'Tell All Your Friends' and 'Like No Other' by the Oxford artists below. The artists will also be playing some upcoming dates together.

Trophy Wife and Chad Valley do the ol' musician switcheroo on their upcoming joint-EP, trying their hand at each other's tracks for the b-sides to the 123 vinyl. Oxford's Trophy Wife takes on his fellow townsman's 'Tell All Your Friends', stripping back the electro-banger, slowing it down and rebuilding it in a more New Romantic vein. Listen below and check out Chad Valley's cover of 'Like No Other' here . You can pre-order the release here .
É um EP conjunto que nos traz "Tell All Your Friends" de Chad Valley do Young Hunger , álbum que o artista lançou recentemente (que podem ouvir aqui ) e "Like No Other", uma faixa nova dos Trophy Wife , banda da qual já falámos várias vezes por aqui . Para dar um extra ao EP, ambos resolveram fazer uma cover da música contrária e como tal temos também uma versão de Chad Valley de "Like No Other" e uma versão de Trophy Wife de "Tell All Your Friends". Uma experiência interessante, [...]
