HappyParts first heard this track a while back on Viva Radio when doing a record mailing. This groovy number jumped off the screen. Dig this 1970 (Cadet LPS-841) funky groove produced and arranged by Richard Evans, based on the writings of Omar Khayyam. Dorothy Ashby indeed has true soul getting way down with Jazz Harp Bebop . Next to Sun Ra- Space Jazz does not get more wild than this. Blast off. The Moving Finger
![UK Threatens To Cut Off Filesharers' Internet Access [The Law]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1174320_lg.jpg)
Six of the largest ISPs in the UK, working in concert with law enforcement, the film, and music industries, are planning to send approximately one thousand letters a week to clients who illegally upload or download music and movies. They plan to target the worst offenders first, using the threat of having one's Internet service revoked instead of a direct threat of legal action as leverage against the users in question. Their goal is to reduce illegal filesharing by 80% before 2011 rolls around. On one level, this plan makes sense, [...]

Until then- click on her MySpace and tune in now. You can find a track of her's on ITunes now too. Provided [...]
One of HappyParts all time favorite bands- so it's nice day- This is the best, bad bar band in the world- (next to Rolling Stones) their influence across all rock in roll, abundant. Nevermind Rod's diversions, this is when he had true soul. Dig it. WBR #7681 (1973) Cindy Incidentally

Cult Film Corner #1: James Woods Fights the Power Last month, my good friend Jeff Yungman (the only person I know to have been given the key to a city ) passed the bar exam. Marking the occasion on his blog , our pal John Barner recalled that back when the two of them worked together valiantly trying to get inmates' death sentences commuted they often imagined themselves as the stars of this legal thriller. Until I'd read John's post I'd [...]

[For the background on this series, see here .] After a brief respite, the jangly eighties series is back. Today's episode features two former bands of legendary Austin guitarist Alejandro Escovedo . Rank And File started with a bang in 1982, but soon fizzled. Their first record, Sundown , is worth hearing. In a review that will entice many regular readers of this blog, All Music Guide decscribed it as "a gem of tuneful, Byrds-ian pop, with a healthy dollop of Gram Parsons and [...]
