It always seems to take me a few listens to digest slocore and shoegaze music to figure out if I truly like it. On occasion I'm left blown away by it (as I was with Baltimore's Thrushes). This happened recently with the band True Widow out of Dallas, TX. True Widow is the new project of singer/guitarist Dan Phillips and they've just released a new S/T album this past November on End Sounds .
