And when you're done lick the roof of my mouth so you feel and taste how I am when I am most new.
Fall came early to the northwest; it's been raining pretty much non-stop since yesterday afternoon. But it's not cold yet, at least I have that to be thankful for. And my fall crops are actually doing quite well which is a huge relief following our lousy summer that never quite was. As for a musical accompaniment to go with this seemingly endless patter of rain, I recommend Tsukimono 's "Field hollers" netrelease. In a perfect world you all should have already downloaded it by now, but I know that's likely not the case, so here's [...]

I'd hate to start another suicidefest by sharing "Gloomy Sunday" with you on a, well, gloomy sunday, since as The Silent Ballet's Richard Allen has duly noted : "Billie Holiday's 1941 hit, "Gloomy Sunday," tells the tale of a person in mourning who is contemplating suicide. Due to numerous anecdotal stories of people listening to the song and launching themselves from rooftops, the BBC banned the tune, which eventually became known as "The Hungarian Suicide Song." Facts away there's absolutely nothing I agree with Allen about Tsukimono's latest release [...]
It's a fact: the Great Northern Recordings compilation series does an amazing job of exploring new and exciting sounds coming out of the Swedish underground and the latest edition (#4) is no exception. Even better, more established names (such as Tape or Erik Enocksson , here performing as Lakes of Grass and Gold ) are paired with up-and-comers like The Magic State and my friend (and IAT.MP3 artist) Johan Gustavsson aka Tsukimono . Artists at the top of their game test their mettle with ones who have a lot more to [...]
Tsukimono has now posted details for his new album "Great blood" , plus a new live cassette he has coming out on Klorofyll Tapes: http://yourson-shine.blogspot. com/2008/12/new-album-new-spli t-cassette-live.html
IAT.MP3 artist Tsukimono , the solo project of Johan Gustavsson ( Scraps of Tape , V. Sjöberg New Jazz Ensemble , Gutted String ), will be releasing the new album "Great blood" on November 29 via Hwem. There will be release party in Stockholm (details tba), but in the meantime you can hear three tracks at myspace: http://www.myspace.com/tsukimo noswe
We're being bombarded with a slew of newschool hiphop/neo-soul - primarily from the UK - these days and I was thinking of making a coverage of that now that the summer's here and summers basically need deep and mellow music, but it's better left for Monday and we'll start fresh the new week. I'll be playing a lot of them tomorrow on the radioshow so if artists like Eric Lau, Muhsinah, Kissey Asplund, Plantlife and James Pants ring a bell for you, you should tune in at 10AM CET . Ok so [...]

Image credit: NGC 2024, The Flame Nebula in Orion by Robert Gendler This list takes off where the slow and heavy grooving pieces of the previous instalment left us. Om is definitely one of my favourites within the genre and this track from their latest (and with drummer Chris Hakius leaving this duo, sadly enough, probably also their final) studio album Pilgrimage makes for a perfect bridge from the previous part of this series. But soon after, things get a little different. It's darker and a lot more [...]
This week's guest in our ongoing Göteborg spotlight series is Johan Gustavsson . Besides being a triumphant Guitar Hero player (seriously!), he keeps himself very, very busy performing music solo under the alias Tsukimono , as well as playing with groups such as Scraps of Tape , Viktor Sjöberg New Jazz Ensemble , Alina , the new band The VIII Arms Around You and tons more. Keeping track of 'em all is near-impossible. Anyhow, I had questions and he was happy to supply some answers: [...]

There's a brand new netrelease today from Tsukimono , so I'm posting the lead track "Osaka drop" as today's mp3 download. For those unaware, Tsukimono is the musical alias of Johan Gustavsson , a prolific Göteborg-based artist who you might also know from his work with Scraps of Tape , Viktor Sjöberg New Jazz Ensemble , The Colour Black or one his many, many other collaborative projects. This four-track EP is a perfect netrelease candidate as it is a highly conceptual work - every sound you hear originated [...]

Perri Series, Final Part photo courtesy of perri The sky was dark by 430 today. Every year, once the winter is over my mind hides its memory away, like the memory of a terrible pain, so that I can go on. Every year, when the sun starts to push its way through the darkness, and the tulips [...]
Tsukimono's new album "Née" is the perfect release for Kalligrammofon to follow up Viktor Sjöberg's "On a winter's day". Both artists utilize guitars and found-sound as the main source for their art, but what they do with it is totally different. Viktor tends towards the quiet and complative and yes, even romantic (as Kevin points out in his review) while Tsukimono (aka Johan Gustavsson) is often far more frenetic and noisy. This particular piece that I've posted today reminds me a bit of Alog with its steady melodic rhythm. Processed guitar tones chime, twist and turn until the rains come [...]
