Herşey 1977 yılında San Francisco City College'de iki arkadaşın tanışmasıyla başladı. Tuxedomoon ABD'de en ateşli günlerini yaşayan dönemin punk aleminin bir parçası olarak evrimini başarıyla tamamladı. When I was a kid, I secretly liked my many allergies and occasional colds because it meant I got to have cold medicine. The ensuing loopiness was at once a dry run for the pharmacopeian dimension of early adulthood and also a weirdly satisfying recline into level of consciousness untroubled by neurosis or hurry. Drawing together a couple threads from the week — extroverted vox à la Peter Hammill and a cover treatment courtesy of Nouvelle Vague. (The latter is actually where I heard this tune first.) I don't often listen to these San Francisco avant-theatrical dudes, but I'm always happy when I do. Or at least made happily ill-at-ease. Well, I saw Helios Creed playing Chrome songs...Damon died like fifteen years ago and I'm pretty sure the other guys were hired guns: Aleph on drums, Lux on bass, and the keyboard player who I see all over town who kind of looks like Eddie Izzard. When two students at San Francisco City College met in 1977 they threw together a band called TuxedoMoon and started playing Salons and gaining a following. Eventually they ended up opening for Devo and getting signed to The Residents' label, Ralph Records. Thirty years later, despite, moving to Rotterdam to be a part of the electronic music scene there, they are still on tour and released an album in 2007. All San Francisco bands take note!
