The Swedish One-Man Orchestra Tvärvägen , a.k.a. Henrik Öhberg, has made a video for a new song called "Pingvinvärmen". As always, Tvärvägen's music is stunningly beautiful, and I am even more looking forward to his new album after hearing this. Enjoy!
Brilliantly subtle and hushed, Stockholm one-man-band Tvärvägen (thank God we don't have to pronounce that right now), the also-known-as for Henrik Öhberg, makes orchestrations of emotion with plucks and pianos, random other instruments (whether toys or else) and shimmering and...
Yesterday, I mentioned on my On The Spot(ify) -blog (Spotify recommendations) that my favourite September song was David Sylvian 's "September" ( spotify | wimp | youtube ). It has become some sort of weird ritual for me to play this song every year in the beginning of September, – I just love it so much, and it never stops giving me that good feeling. Today I was reminded that I have at least one more September favourite. September is, and has always been, my favourite month of the year. I don't [...]

Yesterday I received an album I have been waiting in excitement for. - I haven't waited that long, I admit that, - but I have definitely waited since the second I heard the first few tones of Tvärvägen 's astonishing debut single "September" this autumn. The album I'm talking about is of course the Swedish one-man project Tvärvägen's debut album, "Sångar från Tvärvägen" ("Songs from Tvärvägen"), and it is out now on the small Swedish label Knoppar . The album is quite short, - 10 songs [...]

Es ist zwar schon November, aber "September" von Tvärvägen klingt zu schön. "September" von Tvärvägen aka Henrik Ohberg.

Written by Fense There's no doubt about it - the days are getting colder and the nights have come to dominate the evening. Soon they'll steal away the late afternoon. I walked to Breadfarm and picked up some rolls and my sweater wasn't enough to keep the chill of the light wind away. "September" is the perfect song - and video - for this time of year. Sure, it's October here, but in Sweden, where Tvärvägen calls home, it was probably this cold last month. [...]
So, just in time for Halloween, there's a compilation album about people who've died and are buried in the Lone Fir Cemetery in Portland, by all Portland artists! It's called (D)early Departed , and the proceeds go to maintaining and improving an important piece of our history: a graveyard in the heart of our city, which started in the 1850's and final resting place of many of our founders, as well as some of lower estate. ( Buy it here .) artist - song - album :: extra info [...]

A couple days ago I read a post on IGIF about the Music Alliance Project (MAP), an idea speared headed by Jason at The Pop Cop where 15-20 music blogs were asked to choose a song by a band from their country and share the results in identical postings to " help introducing your favorite music to a worldwide audience ". Its pretty good concept for discovering music, worked for me. I do believe this sort of thing happens on its own, but I might not have heard of Tvärvägen if it [...]
Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 A month ago I got an email from a fellow blogger recommending some sort of music exchange program. The idea is this: get a few country specific blogs (such as this one you're reading) and get them to upload [...]

Here's something different today. A while back, I got a message from Jason who runs Scottish music blog The Pop Cop . His plan was to form a sort of worldwide alliance of blogs which each month would post songs from their country, and so, after a bit of prompting we have the Music Alliance Pact. It's actually been quite a good way for me to listen to artists from other countries, which is something that I'm often quite rubbish at (apart from North American acts naturally). There's some good stuff [...]
Tvärvägen 's video for their new single "September" is now online: http://vimeo.com/1897577
I haven't been too active blogging after the compilations were released, and the list of things to do have just grown bigger and bigger. Here are some of the good things that have happened lately. Know of more? Add your good things in the comment area! First, here are some good songs I've been playing a lot lately: The Legends' Johan Angergård The Legends - seconds away - New single from Sweden's The Legends. At first I [...]

My Swedish Smiths week is over but my love of melancholy pop is not. That brings us to the new song from Tvärvägen . "September" is a sad song with intervals of noisy clattering instruments. Tvärvägen is being called a one man orchestra and if that is true this song and the coming album is even more impressive. The new record, Sånger från Tvärvägen , is out in November on Knoppar Records . You can find the first single, "September", below. September P.S. [...]
