Suburban Living maintains light and uplifting, '80s-reminiscent melodies.
If you were a fan of the David Lynch series, you may want to snap a photo.
The Quick Fix showcases the best of Chicago music news, views and stories from around the interwebs and blogosphere that we might have missed. • If you haven't seen it yet, the Riot Fest lineup this year looks pretty solid . In addition to amazing acts like Bad Brains, Motorhead, Dismemberment Plan, Dinosaur Jr, (Blondie for some reason?), there's also great local acts including The Lawrence Arms, Smoking Popes, Maps and Atlases, White Mystery, Twin Peaks, and Empires. • Brooklyn Vegan Chicago reports that a piece of Brooklyn is coming to [...]
Naming your band after one of the most beloved (especially among the hipster crowd) TV series of all time is a ballsy move, but lucky for the four teens from Chicago which go by Twin Peaks , their music is pretty damn good. “Stand in the Sand” is an infectious fuzzy garage-pop jam that isn’t too far off from what fellow Chicagoans Smith Westerns are doing. Twin Peaks’ debut Sunken is out July 9th via Autumn Tone Records .
Everyday is always a good day to listen to Ben’s classic album ‘Sha Sha’ ( listen on Spotify ). Which is exactly what I am doing right now. There are so many great songs on it, that it is a bit disheartening to know that he was only 22 when it was released. Although every track is an outright gem, ‘Lizzy’ has always been (and still is) my favourite track. It’s just a lovely little ditty. And if you are one of those folks that dabble on the guitar, it makes for a great song and to learn [...]

The lead single "Stand in the Sand" from young Chicago garage rockers Twin Peaks bears more than a passing resemblance to the scuzzed-up lo-fi rock of Thee Oh Sees or Ty Segall. Drawing inspiration as much from these modern peers as they do classic garage bands like The Sonics or The Monks, Twin Peaks blast through this two minute slice of melodic garage fuzz with all the zeal and fervor of someone hearing Fun House for the first time. Trading in pop licks as often as crunchy riffs, this group of 19-year-olds have an uncanny ability to channel [...]

I like this single, Stand in the Sand , from Chicago's Twin Peaks . The song will appear on the band's debut album, Sunken , which is scheduled for release in July. You can download the song here .

When 19-year-old Chicagoans Cadien Lake James, Clay Frankel, Connor Brodner, and Jack Dolan finished high school a year ago, they were under the impression that things had to change. They were expected to go to college, and more importantly, had to deal with the reality of breaking up their band, Twin Peaks , which had just started to get some notice. Three of them committed to Evergreen State College in Olympia with the idea of keeping some semblance of the band together, but it was clear that there was a magic the four of them had. All this happened BEFORE [...]

It takes a brave fucker, or in this case four brave fuckers to name their band Twin Peaks, and I'm not going into details as to why. continue reading >>

This week, David Bowie demonstrated his 'work flow diagrams', we learned that Flying Lotus will feature new music in the Jay-Z produced film An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty, Wolfmother will now be referred to as the frontman's moniker Andrew Stockdale, and James Murphy doth protests too much as he told us again that an LCD Soundsystem reunion "isn't happening". But get excited, as we give you a few of our favorite things from the week in no particular order. Durh...

"Laura Palmer" es parte del álbum debut de la banda 'Bad Blood' Dan Smith , la mente detrás del grupo inglés BΔSTILLE , se inspiró en el personaje principal de la serie y película de David Lynch y Mark Frost , Twin Peaks , para su nuevo sencillo: "Laura Palmer". El grupo de Londres estrenó el video para dicha canción en el que vemos a la banda tocar en un bosque oscuro mientras una pandilla de amigos sale y se divierte en sus motocicletas.

WATCH: A Hauntingly Intense Performance by Majical Cloudz a t The Mohawk + ‘Childhoods End’ Clip The last time I planned to see Majical Cloudz Hurricane Sandy hit New York, consequently cancelling their show with Grimes at The Music Hall of Williamsburg. That said, their intimate basement performance at the Mohawk on the last night of SXSW was especially climatic. Devon Welsh’s deeply affecting stage presence and voice filled the packed room, backed by a contrasting mix of feedback, electronic beats, and distortion from Matthew Otto. Their [...]
