Chad Valley's "Young Hunger" is without a doubt one of our favorite LP's of 2012! The whole LP is packed with collaborations of great artists such as Glasser, El Perro Del Mar, Jack Goldstein, Anne Lise Frøkedal, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Active Child. Personally, my favorite track of the album is "I Owe You This" featuring the amazing Twin Shadow. Today we bring you a free remix by Jacques Renault for the single "I Owe You," and I'm totally in love for this version. We all know the Brooklyn producer, mainly for his brilliant take of Midnight [...]

Check out this incredible remix of Chad Valley’s “I Owe You This” done by Brooklyn’s mad talented Jacques Renault. This is that song off of Chad Valley’s new album, Young Hunger , where he collaborated with Twin Shadow. The song is available for free exclusively over with the cool guys at XLR8R. They say: “Though “I Owe You This” is as decidedly pop-oriented as the rest of Chad Valley’s Young Hunger LP for Cascine, the Let’s Play House co-owner beefs it up by adding his concentrated blend of disco-flecked dancefloor sounds to [...]

Screw the Oscars! Now that the site is back up we can continue the (very late) Best of 2012 Awards! So many great songs last year. The second 6 months of jams did more than stand up to the first . So many genres colliding in this list. Beautiful songs. Funny songs. Innovative songs. Simple songs. Dance songs. Rock songs. All songs that have spent much time wedged in the recesses of my brain. Ultimately its Kids of 88 and Years and Years battling it out for the top spot. Two songs I would [...]

Download “I Owe You This” feat. Twin Shadow, remixed by Tomas Barfod. Find the original on Young Hunger , the latest record from Chad Valley . I Owe You This (Tomas Barfod Remix) // download “I Owe You This” is a nervous love song, where Hugo Manuel carefully places his heart on the line, & George Lewis Jr. skirts caddishly around it. “His persona is definitely very different to mine, so I thought he would fit in there [...]
Chad Valley’s latest single, "I Owe You This," which includes guest vocals from Twin Shadow, was already an undeniably feel-good piece of electronic music. Today, we get to hear Danish producer Tomas Barfod’s experimental take ... read more

Jamie-James Medina Both The xx and Grizzly Bear have pretty well established their bona fides as a couple of the biggest names in what we colloquially call "indie rock" circa 2013, and while neither are quite at the point where they could headline a top-tier festival, they can sure as heck team up for a pretty impressive standalone bill in a festival setting. En route to New York City to play the Governor's Ball , the two acts - last seen hereabouts in the elegant setting of Massey Hall both - will show [...]

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Twin Shadow has announced a new tour where the support act will be either him or his father telling the audience a story. The musician, otherwise known as George Lewis Jr, explained a little about the bizarre concept he's calling the 'True Story Tour': "You know when someone tells a story and says "crazier things have happened!" Well, you always wish they would just tell you that crazier thing. Like, why would you want to hear a story that's [...]

George Lewis Jr., aka Twin Shadow , will bring his latest effort, Confess , to life on what he's billing as the "True Story" tour. The jaunt kicks off days before his appearance at Sasquatch! Music Festival and revolves around the theme of storytelling. Specifically, each date will feature Lewis or his father (!) tell the audience "one True Story" from their lives. The leather-clad songwriter offered up some more context: You know when someone tells a story and says "crazier things have happened!" well, you [...]

By Brendan Klinkenberg With the exciting news of the Hudson Mohawke signing to G.O.O.D. Music sinking in, we like to look toward the future. Kanye is the head of the only major hip-hop team that's still capable of surprising us, so when it comes to his roster it's always a matter of contention and an opportunity for imagination and speculation. There's no one fucking with the clique right now, but with the right additions that team could be literally unimpeachable. Check out who we think would make for the best collaborators on the [...]
