Photo by The Cobrasnake I have always been perplexed by the brand of Ke$ha . Apparently she sold the most digital singles in 2k10, but she doesn't seem 'as famous' as Lady Gaga . She can't sell out entire arenas and plays smaller clubs, but her music must appeal to some1 [via weird mainstream demographics]. I feel like there are more 'weird Middle Americans' who are searching 4 an authentic identity [via sexuality] than we realize. Have u ever been 2 a [...]
The staff at the John Snow in Soho in for a surprise tonight, a surprise full of boys that like boys.

You may not recognise the name John Charles Alder, but his musical DNA is already deeply ingrained within these pages. Drummer, percussionist and all-round looner Twink, whose nickname was bestowed by his waggish friends because his mass of (naturally) curly hair suggested a 1960s home perm product, thumped the tubs for psych maestros Tomorrow , kept time for the Pretty Things around the time of SF Sorrow and later became one half of the twin-kit power train of the Pink Fairies . Somehow amongst all this collective activity Twink also found time to record his only "solo" album, [...]

The toy piano is historically more than just a plaything. Quality toy pianos stay in tune, because they do not employ strings. Toy pianos offer a unique timbre unlike a piano and more like a celesta or a member of the harpsichord family. It is this unusual sound has been the key appeal to a small number of composers and performers through the centuries. [...]
Joseph A. Morse, San Quentin Prison's Death Row, 1972. After nearly a decade of subsisting on valium, seconal, prison-made wine and a little heroin, I was introduced to LSD. My fellow condemned prisoners were a little reluctant to try the new chemical because of the gloomy environment, but I had practically been raised on death [...]

Unchill AZN bro I know ur buzzband is doing super well getting tons of alts across the USA singing 'hunfucked" maybe ur even inspiring a wave of Shannon Gaga -like artists But don't understand why u had to hire a mexi twink to be ur 'backup dancer' maybe ur playing some sort of male strip club super confused so much brown mexi peen + ass Can't believe he keeps twirling around his peen like a helicopter spinning round and round forming [...]

Link: http://oceanup.com/2010/08/12/ jonas-brothers-hangin-w-owl-ci ty Owl City is a bleepy bloopy tween band that sings about meaningful stuff like 'seeing a lot of fireflies and feeling like the universe is on ur side' or 'what it feels like to get ur first erection.' Just standard tween themes, yall know the vibe. The Jonas Brothers are a tween homosexual rock band who sing about 'rock n roll' and 'handjobs from girls' and 'life with diabetes.' It seems like these two pop sensations joined forces and took a picture together. [...]

Twilight is one of the most successful tween movie franchises in the history of mankind. The story is about some girl who is in a love triangle with some Vampires and Some Wolf Bro. It seems like this plotline lends itself well to TWINKLIGHT: the new porn parody of the Twilight series. Sorta wanna 'experiment with my sexuality', and get into some really dark vampire kinda vibes, then turn ghey, then 'blow my load' while watching these twinks. R u a homosexual? R u a vampire? Do u like fake blood? [...]

I just watched this music video for Grizzly Bear's "Ready, Able", and it felt very conceptual. Like a genuine video artist bro made it. I wonder if Grizzly Bear videos could be considered more/less conceptual than AnCo's videos. Both seem to have visual brands of being 'pretty out there.' Just see a lot of melting and stuff. Might be a metaphor. Wondering what the future of music videos will be in 2k10. Do people 'really care' about watching a lil video on a tiny portion of their computer screen? Will indie [...]
Today was a rather long and cruel one. It was very hard to focus on work, though I did complete several tasks that needed to be done. Concentration has not been easy for the past few days. In fact, it became a lot harder yesterday after my long day of solo travel down to San Diego for drinking. To be honest, I was starting to feel hungover by 10:00pm last night. Shit, I wound up playing poker with Landon and Nate when I got home and I was making a lot of brainless decisions. I just missed the final table [...]

Despite how ridiculous this looks, it's not. Everything from winding folk to heavy psych gets tossed together from a drummer that played with the Pretty Things, Hawkwind and some other bands that were capable of aurally create acid freeq outs. Why Think Pink wasn't/isn't huge is a mystery. Take a gander.
![Tonstartssbandht - An When - Does Are (release date: Aug. 14, 2009) [Album Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1949544_lg.jpg)
Tonstartssbandht ... seriously? Why not something simple, like The Beatles, or The Ruttles? These fuckers are out of their minds though. An When is a must-have, super-lo-fi conscription of the chi of Ariel Pink [...]
What a weird, weird afternoon. Here's what's swirling between my ears: Twink "Pussy Cat" from The Broken Record Now, Now Every Children "Cars" from Cars Volcano Choir "Islands, IS" from Unmap (Bon Iver side project) TV On The Radio "Mr Grieves" (The Pixies) from Young Liars The Breeders "Do You Love Me Now Jr." (feat. J Mascis) from Divine Hammer EP [...]

from Science Digest , July 1980: "The facts are simple," says Charles K. Johnson , president of the International Flat Earth Research Society. "The earth is flat." As you stand in his front yard, it is hard to argue the point. From among the Joshua trees, creosote bushes, and tumbleweeds surrounding his southern California hillside home, you have a spectacular view of the Mojave Desert. It looks as flat as a pool table. Nearly 20 miles to the west lies the small city of Lancaster; you can see [...]

"This astonishing release from the Pink Fairies, Pretty Things, and Deviants drummer Twink will be a welcome addition to any psychedelic collection. A legendary figure of the U.K. psychedelic scene, he recorded these rock experiments in London's Wizzard Studios in the late '60s to early '70s. Legend has it that Twink had all but forgotten about these sessions until engineer Julian Briggs presented him with tapes in 1999. A remix and remastering session in Los Angeles ensued, and, suspiciously modern as it sounds, one wonders if the session involved a few late-'90s stylistic updates as well. Regardless, the degree of [...]

After a nice dinner last night at the new Michaelangelo's location in Silver Lake last night, I realized that I didn't have enough time to compile a mix tape and put together the White Hills review. White Hills gets preferential treatment over mix tapes, so that's why I'm posting the mix now, on Monday. I hope you won't mind the tardiness, I think this one's pretty far out there... RULES for uninitiated noobs : With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or [...]

This is a mix of great songs from bands in Boston that, despite my best efforts, won't get unstuck from my head. And there's a reason they're stuck there. That being that they're great. And when I feel that void creeping in, the one you get after scrolling through all 7,000 songs on your iPod and not finding a single thing to listen to, that I click a random link from one of these bands myspace pages, and hopefully find something new to latch on to. So hopefully, one (or more!) of these tracks will become your new obssession. So [...]

dl: TWINK - 3 Bunnies In A Balloon ( YSI ) ------------------------------ ------------------------------ -------- ------- Imagine three bunnies flying in a hot-air balloon. One of them is blue. One of them is orange. One of them is pink. Well, these bunnies are arguing about where they should go for vacation. One of them wants to fly over the ocean to frolic with flying fish and a friendly octopus. One of them wants to [...]

Something interesting happened in the U.K. as a result of the influence of Pink Floyd's spacey rock flirtations and the surrounding scene that benefited from, influenced and diverged from that particular time and place in British rock. One of the excellent divergences came in the form of a burgeoning space rock genre. Utilizing the electronic influence of bands like Floyd and the Moody Blues and fusing these with harder rock elements and some lumbering bits of folk into a sound as progressive as it was enticing. [...]
