April Fool's Day really does bore me to tears. The jokes are so weak and obvious most of the time that they really are pointless, although Avalanche's Withered Hand futon did make me laugh. It's the forced bonhomie which I find the most tedious, I have to confess. 'Oh yes, ha ha, very funny, well done you, gosh how everso fucking hilarious'. And then just occasionally you hear news, like Viva Brother splitting up which, whilst it is painfully obviously an April Fool, is just too close to real, actual good news we'd actually [...]

Heisse Hexe Eat People The name for Kind Turkey Records is fitting considering the man behind the magic is a kind fellow. After purchasing his Hussy LP , he happily sent over some other gems for me to listen to and one of them is the 7" single for 'Eat People' from Two Tears who is fronted by Kerry Davis, one of the women behind the 90′s punk band Red Aunts. The single came out March of this year and contains [...]

Translation from German: "Hot Witch". HELL, YES. Two Tears is guitarist Kerry Davis (late of 90s-LA punk band Red Aunt) and whichever drummer she happens to have on tour with her at the moment. I first encountered her supporting Dan Sartain at a couple of shows over Easter this year. This track was one of the standouts of a stellar shouty set, and is the b-side of the "Eat People" 73 EP, which was released in the US in March. As far as I know, it's pretty much only available on these shores digitally, unless you happen to [...]

Two Tears is the garage rock sound of Kerry Davis, who we introduced a few months back. "Heissi Hexe" is another track that has caught our attention, as of now the band has only put out a single. Hopefully as the buzz continues to generate we can get more music before years end, stream the post punk tune below. Two Tears- Heisse Hexe
The lead up to Coachella (see the Coachella Mix) and Record Store Day (extensive RSD mixes with rare songs), meant that we didn't get to all of the Best New Releases for the week of April 12th. In addition to the regularly scheduled releases that week, there were the hundreds of limited edition vinyl releases [...] Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe

With a sound straight from the garage, Two Tears is one part indie rock, one part alterna-pop, and two parts punk, along with a few other less obvious styles. She is all attitude, this talented one-woman band, with a thrift store fashion sense and a rather down-to-earth manner about her.

If you were into punk in the 19902s you may have heard of an all-girl 4 piece with the name The Red Aunts. As with most of those bands they disbanded after a few years, all going their seperate ways. One of the girls, Kerry Davis, however, kept going. She played alongside Mick Collins in The Screws and then in Beehive and the Barracudas with former members of Rocket From the Crypt and The Hot Snakes. Eventually she reinvented herself and is now recording under a new, raw garage-punk incarnation - The Two Tears. With Kerry on guitar [...]

Two Tears Eat People 7" Kind Turkey Records [2011] Fire Note Says: Red Aunts Kerry Davis shines in her new one lady band Two Tears! Album Review: I am sure you don't know the name Kerry Davis but back in the 90's she was in the all girl punk group the Red Aunts (which happens to be one of my favorites) that were on Epitaph Records. [...]

Two Tears is a new solo project from the rad Kerry Davis. Davis, who you may remember from the pivotal 90's L.A. punk band Red Aunt recently traveled the world, particularly Paris, Dubai and New York City. In result came three fresh songs apart of a 73 release that dropped this past Tuesday via Kind Turkey . This track tagged "Heisse Hexe" happened to be my favorite of the few - although they're all rather glorious - mostly thanks to its post-punk variations, that will leave any Fall fan quite satisfied, and silky smooth vocals. By the time the [...]

So far a number of my favorite records from 2011 have been of the dubby, electronic persuasion (i.e. The King of Limbs and James Blake). But the result of ingesting such heavy, regular doses of highly textured, electronic music, is that as a reaction, I've been jonesing for some good-ole' electric-guitar wailing rock 'n roll, and I've learned that I [...]

Two Tears come with a great garage rock pedigree featuring Kerry Davis on guitar and vocals and a rotating cast of musicians. Need proof? She started out in 90s LA girl group The Red Aunts , went on to be the drummer in the Screws and played in Beehive and The Barracudas . So you probably know what to expect and you'd be right. Her latest single features three of her most propulsive garage rockers and each written and recorded on three different cities in three different continents (Paris, Dubai and New [...]
New music from Kerry Davis' (Red Aunts) new solo project, Two Tears.
I got an email about The Two Tears about a week ago and have been meaning to write something up about them. Today seemed like a good time for a post since they're playing at Beauty Bar Brooklyn tonight. The Two Tears play really well done garage rock. There are so many fucking garage rock bands these days it's almost impossible to stand out but this band manages to make a splash. I haven't seen
