Carrier follows the loss of guitarist Christopher Reimer , who joined The Dodos in 2011. You can’t accuse Ty Segall of being a slacker. After releasing a three albums over the course of 2012, the San Franciscan psych-rocker has released a trailer for new album Sleeper . If anything, the trailer goes to great lengths to prove that Ty does indeed take time out for a quick snooze in between recording. Sleeper is due out on August 20th.

Last year, the young Bay Area garage-rock god Ty Segall released three full-length albums, which is ridiculous. Thus far this year, he's been in slothful mode, limiting himself to a couple of singles from his new stoner-metal power trio Fuzz, a T. Rex tribute EP, and a heaping handful of spare tracks. Efter att i fjol släppt tre hyllade garagealbum har Ty Segall nu annonserat ännu ett album, det verkar helt enkelt inte finnas något stopp på honom. Den 20 augusti släpper han Sleeper, som med all sannolikhet är ännu ett ljuvligt släpigt album med psykadeliska vibbar. Fuzz is the new ultra-heavy proto-metal project of Ty Segall and Charles Moonheart. The word is that Fuzz will/has hit the studio this month to work on songs for their upcoming debut LP on In The Red, but "This Time I Got A Reason" and the b-side "Fuzz's Fourth Dream" have given us a gnarly taste of what is to come. Directed by Edgar Nelson Obrand (LEAF), the performance we have below was shot at Burgerama last month. Mikal Cronin  sets up his new album, MCII , nicely with the first song, Weight ,  a bouncy power pop number. That song sets the stage for an enjoyable collection of fuzzy, melodic tunes. Perhaps Cronin is still best known as Ty Segall's  collaborator and traveling band mate but the guitarist shows on his sophomore album that he is a highly entertaining solo artist as well. There is an interesting movement in California that is resulting in excellent music from artists who are (mostly) influenced by '60s psychedelia, '70s classic rock and metal, and yet they produce very relevant music today.
