Ty Segall, "Wave Goodbye"
Ty Segall finally bids adieu all the pretenses of garage rock, adds a "band" to his name and throws down this ridiculous psych-rock burnout. It feels like destruction in a song. Burly guitar wail, electrically charged humidity, the nasal holler of Segall lacing it all together in to a screeching bit of burnt rubber. Ty Segall [...]
Jonah Bromwich rocks a powdered wig. Ty Segall and White Fence’s new collaborative album Hair is very good. That's not a surprise. Segall is an eternally under-appreciated, songwriting and riff whiz and White Fence’s Tim Presley, while not quite of Segall’s stature, has shown the ability to add both heart and muscle to his guitar-history collages. So yeah, it’s not surprising at all that the two collaborating makes all kinds of excellent, cat-scratch sense, and marks another artistic step for Segall. Last year’s Goodbye Bread found Segall working in [...]

Ty Segall just can't seem to stop putting out badass tunes left and right. The guy is easily one the hardest working in the indie world and all should take note. This new jam "Wave Goodbye" popped up late Friday all over the web and we had to let the ATH family have a listen in cased you missed it over the weekend. It's a very straight forward, dark edged rocker that ends in a pretty sweet rock out for over a minute or so. This new one appears on the new album Slaughterhouse due out June [...]
Ty Segall and Timothy "White Fence" Presley Words : Drake LeLane We're [Drake et al. -ed.] back after taking a week off for a little R&R in Mexico last week (sorry Spiritualized and Moonface... we'll get you next time). This week is marked by a lot of classic guitar-based rock influences. Ty Segall and White Fence hole up in a garage for 30 minutes of psych rock fun, while Jack White puts all his appreciation of rock history into [...]

Ty Segall doesn't play metal, but the cover to his forthcoming album is almost the most metal thing I've seen all month. Under the monicker "Ty Segall Band," Ty has dropped a new track to his forthcoming album titled "Wave Goodbye." It's a heavy, acid-soaked, lo-fi psych rocker with plenty of guitar solos and sour vocals. A real attitude on this one. Clenched teeth. Sarcastic remarks. A descending bassline that reminds me of a Beatles song or two. Look for this new album, Slaughterhouse , on In the Red on June 26th. Check the album [...]
Following the release of their stellar Castle Face debut Yes On Blood, The Mallard's little star has been rising, well, quickly to say the least. A tour with Thee Oh Sees, a recent show with The Fresh & Onlys, and an upcoming slate of live gigs a mile long - it's nice to see [...]

So Cali garage rock hero, Ty Segall , got a group of his talented friends together, and formed the Ty Segall Band. You can hear the first effort, “Wave Goodbye” below. If this doesn’t burn you down in all the right spots, I don’t know what will. Massive guitars, distorted vocals, and a a hearty “live” sound. Another words, a perferct song to gather your buds and jam too. The record, Slaughterhouse , will be out June 11th.
Concise psych collaboration brings out the best in these two Bay Area pals. As Ty Segall and Tim Presley of White Fence (amongst others, including Strange Boys and Darker My Love) release more and more music, inching closer and closer towards being labeled as full-on workaholics, a strange paradox has begun to emerge within their music evidenced on Hair, their recent collaboration LP: Segall and Presley are becoming more focused. When word of these two San Francisco pals teaming up to release a psych-heavy full-length hit the blogs,...

Psych rocker Ty Segall recently announced the formation of the Ty Segall Band and their plans to release an LP titled Slaughterhouse this coming June. The 11-track album will see Segall teaming up with Mikal Cronin, Charlie Moothart, and Emily Rose Epstein, and now, the first taste of their creative efforts can be heard. The first single from the forthcoming album is titled "Wave Goodbye," and simply put it's a cacophony of pyschedic sounds. Fuzzy guitars wail amongst pounding percussion one second, only to be followed by quiter moments where the distorted vocals [...]
