Well, this turned out to be pretty easy. The single best video of the year dropped into our collective lap last night, and we're still reeling from it. There are four other music videos in this post, but nobody will blame you if you just opt to watch "Countdown" a bunch of times in a row. I seriously considered including the video five times and calling it a day. Read More...
The October 2011 Mix is heavy on the new music with only a handful of tracks whose release will date back to more than a couple of months, but that is just a testament to all of the great music that has been making the rounds. I think 2011 will be remembered as a very good year for new music. A lot of the artists on here you've heard before if you follow us regularly, and a lot of the rest of it will be featured here in the near future during the course of the month. But however you [...]
Another week, another mess of videos. - Burnt Ones - Bury Me In Smoke from LaundroMatinee on Vimeo. Burnt Ones are on non-stop repeat in all facets of my life right now. This is an old video pre-SXSW, but "Bury Me In Smoke" is circling the top of my pile for favorite song of the year right [...]

Play Off! Ty Segall - Facebook
Check out this dope one take video for Ty Segall's track "Goodbye Bread" which appeared on his album of the same name earlier in the year. If more party's looked like this I think our Monday morning hangover may all be a little worse. As for me I was in bed by 10.30pm and feeling fresh as a daisy! Ty on the other hand may be waking up with a slightly sore head! Check out the slightly NSFW video at the top. It only contains a few nipples here and there really. You've probably seen far worse.
Californian he-garage popper the TY SEGALL and his lazy garage rocking will give you the chills in the semi-NSFW GOODBYE BREAD video. recommended to view in high definition. 1080p if your system can handle it. and too much luncheon sunning has got to our heads. we're blasting the FLORENCE & THE MACHINE's second LP to keep us going till 3pm at least plz. wotyougot
Photo by Jeremy D. Larson Ty Segall ’s latest album Goodbye Bread received a lot of well-deserved critical attention earlier this year, but in a way, it left his live show in limbo. The 24-year-old San Franciscan had been bashing out energetic, mosh-filled shows built from his garage stomp catalog and a few well-placed covers. But Goodbye Bread is a thoughtful record- not slower or less energetic, exactly, but one where he leaves himself more room for vocal nuance and doesn’t scream quite as often. It’s a sizable aesthetic jump from [...]
Like his buddy Ty Segall , Mikal Cronin plays '60s style garage rock. The two put out an album together in late 2009, a release that was eclipsed by Segall's excellent Melted in 2010. Last month, Cronin released his solo debut , a self-titled album that is extremely catchy. The album is recommended if you like Segall, Thee Oh Sees and similar bands. Cronin opens for Segall tonight at Empty Bottle . They play an in-store at Permanent Records at 5 p.m.

Ty Segall has released his latest single and visuals for 'Goodbye Bread' from the self titled Lp. Looks like one hell of a costume party and we'd sign up immediately if there's another one. Enjoy the Matt Yorka directed video above. Album is available now.
Your Halloween party will almost certainly not turn out as well as the one in this video. In the "Goodbye Bread" clip, the young Bay Area human garage-rock factory Segall sits, looking sleepy and vaguely bored, while a monster of a costume party rages around him. A topless chick in leopard-print body-paint stands behind him, remaining almost motionless the whole time, which makes this video both vaguely NSFW and kind of hilarious. Matt Yoka directs. Watch it below. Read More...
Part of a welcome trend of prolific Bay Area talents collecting their 73s (Fresh & Onlys, you guys gotta be next!), Ty Segall will be releasing a 2LP collection of his past singles called, yes, Singles 2007-2010 . The album comes out on November 22 via Goner Records , and the track list below indicates there are plenty of songs included here that didn't make any of Ty's albums. Like, for example, "Bullet Proof Nothing," which was previously the B-side on the Caesar 73: [...]

Considering Mikal Cronin's close association with the shred-happy Ty Segall, I was expecting some serious headbanger's on the former's self-titled debut on Chicago's Trouble In Mind Records. However, while guitars roar, that's merely a sideline distraction in Cronin's nuanced, thoughtful, and highly melodic debut. Songs like the wonderfully upbeat "Again and Again" sound like they were plucked straight out of the British invasion, recalling 1960s UK artists like The Kinks, The Beatles, and The Troggs. The very next track, the acoustic strummed "Hold On Me," sounds like a lost Zombies B-side with its crisp and airy vocal harmonies and ear-catching [...]
The past few years have seen a glut of limited singles flowing out of the U.S. garage punk hubs, from Memphis to San Francisco to Chicago and on down to Florida. And as the popularity of artists rises in inverse proportion to the availability of those early slabs, it only seems natural that rounding up the out of print tracks onto a compilation should ensue. With everyone from Jay Reatard to Thee Oh Sees already having their collections bound back to vinyl it does seem that Mr. Segall is in line for a set of his own. Goner has combed [...]
