Typhoon is set to release their third full-length album, White Lighter, on August 2oth via Roll Call Records . The first single from the record has been released and is available as a free download. Dreams Of Cannibalism fits right in with the rest of their catalog and has me real excited to hear a new album from one of our current favorite artists.

This song is unbelievably good. And I expect a lot from Typhoon . "Dreams of Cannibalism" is marked by intense layers from the crashing piano to the horns to the melancholy vocals. It's beautifully orchestrated music that finds footing somewhere in an escapist old western setting, winding along whimsically but focused on a coming of age tale of sorts. Friday night it was the homecoming show for Portland bands Typhoon , Laura Gibson and Lost Lander . The bands finished their Western states tour with a show at the Crystal Ballroom, presented by opbmusic. Typhoon played new songs from their upcoming 2013 release, along with well-known songs from their debut record, Hunger & Thirst . Laura Gibson was joined by members of Lost Lander for her set, setting her delicate strumming against an electric guitar backing.
