What's the craic with George Lee TD ? *** shakes me head *** Is he still looking for something? Was he looking for change? Did he expect something different from politics? Is he just an attention seeker but couldn't get any from Enda and his merry men? Is he just a quitter who couldn't handle the pressure? Is there a finer mess these politicians could get our country into? From last year's Inspirations gig here's a great cover of a U2 classic: The Dublin Gospel Choir - [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive , Television The Who 's pyrotechnic and laser-laden 12-minute medley of classic rock anthems was the latest in a long string of memorable Super Bowl halftime performances. Glastonbury festival organizer Michael Eavis announced that Muse and Stevie Wonder will be joining U2 as headliners of the greatly anticipated UK summer concert. Muse is rumored to play on Saturday night but festival bosses have yet to officially confirm Stevie. The organizers said "It is very much a possibility but he's still only on Michael Eavis' wish list - so not 100% confirmed, it's pending." Filed under: News , Holy Hell AC/DC does charity work -- they just don't talk about it. The rock band's singer Brian Johnson doesn't think musician's like U2 's Bono should publicize it either. "When I was a working man, I didn't want to go to a concert for some bastard to talk down to me that I should be thinking of some kid in Africa," Johnson told Australia's Herald Sun . "I'm sorry, mate, do it yourself, spend [...]

From dollerosa on Flickr: Rory Gallagher meeting with Bono and The Edge (early 80s photographer unknown.) It's suggested in the comments on that Flickr photo that this was from 1982 at Punchestown where both U2 and Rory played the festival that summer. I'm not sure I've ever seen that photo before. Unless it's in one of the U2 books and I just have blanked it out? Also: On Flickr - From January 19, 2010 : Rencontre de Christine LAGARDE et Bono Président de [...]

Coldplay , the latest in the long-line of musicians deemed important enough to warrant a guest appearance on 'The Simpsons,' saw their episode of the animated comedy on Jan. 31. Chris Martin and company's episode will be screened on Sky 1 in the UK in May. The episode, entitled 'Million Dollar Maybe,' sees Coldplay performing for Homer and Bart in their own private stadium, after Homer hires the band to play for them after winning the lottery. Homer turns down the chance to play tambourine, while the show is halted so Bart can use the [...]

The rumours of Muse and Stevie Wonder to be added as headliners alongside U2 seem to have been all but confirmed . U2 are definitely the kind of band I wouldn't say I like, but would be more than happy to see if they were just there to be seen. Muse I really have grown tired of, as I've explained many a time before, but are undeniably a great spectacle band for a festival. If there's not a suitable alternative like Animal Collective during Neil Young last year, I'll probably be content to observe their performance. Just [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive Elvis Costello was one of many artists who paid tribute to Neil Young last Friday night, Jan. 29, at the 20th anniversary MusiCares dinner. Costello was very impressed with the night's music, singling out a few performances that stood out to him. " Wilco were amazing. That was impressive that they put so much work in. I don't imagine Buffalo Springfield ever played that song cause it's kind of a collage," he told Spinner [...]

Filed under: News , Holy Hell Can you imagine a version of Aerosmith fronted by Billy Idol , Chris Cornell or Paul Rodgers ? Any of those projects could be interesting but none of them would be Aerosmith, per-se. Or so argues founding frontman Steven Tyler via a letter sent from his attorney, Skip Miller, to Aerosmith manager Howard Kaufman last week. The four-page letter, obtained by Billboard , is the latest demonstration of infighting and uncertainty within the Aerosmith camp. [...]
Seriously (click to watch ) The Bono at The Grammys - 1994. I watched some of the Grammy Award show last night - with casual disinterest. I was not sad to see U2 snubbed for what they were nominated for. I am definitely among the group that feels No Line On the Horizon is their best work of the past decade, but I was not rooting for I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight to win for best rock performance. Or best rock song. ROCK?! Come on! Best will.i.am pop [...]

As the am.fm.pm betting pool for whose album will rule summer 2010 nears it's final tallies, it's increasingly difficult to reach a consensus. Who will it be? With new releases from The National, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, The New Pornographers- EDIT: Realizing that we have not, in fact, heard any of the much speculated albums in question, this year's pool is canceled. All collected monies will instead go towards next month's Bagel Friday, or Haiti. All the best, -ED -Gorillaz, and a possible THREE Outkast projects due before the end of Q2, [...]
