Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey are able to deliver dynamic tracks with every song they put out there. The first one I heard by Uh Huh Her was Not A Love Song , a track so full of catchy riffs and dreamy vocals it simply begs to be listened and danced to. With talk of a new EP to be released soon, we simply had to speak to the duo to find out what's going on with Uh Huh Her! AMBY: You have been working on your next EP. How is that [...]

"Ne zaman iki satır yazmaya kalksam; hep sana, hep seni, hep bizi yazıyorum" dedi sessizce. Oysa ikimizde biliyorduk sevmenin manasının, sevmeye sebebin kalmadığını. Ama gizliden gizliye kendi seven halimizden vazgeçememe durumunu yaşıyorduk. "Beni seviyormusun diye" sordu tekrar. "Evet" dedim sessizce.. Oysa biliyordum ki o an sokakta çiftleşen köpekler bizden daha dürüsttü... Roxy Music - Love is the Drug Uh Huh Her - Not A Love Song

L-R: Camila Grey, Leisha Hailey Not too long after Camila Grey and Leisha Hailey released their debut record Common Reaction in ’08 and quickly gained critical acclaim as a hot new electro-pop band, they split from their record label, and subsequently disconnected themselves from the managerial amenities previously available to them. This artist/label divorce drove Grey and Hailey to do some serious soul-searching in terms of how they wanted their creative voice to manifest from then on. After spending several months getting back in touch with their fundamental musical inspirations, most visceral [...]
Los Angeles electro/pop duo Uh Huh Her, formed by Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey in 2007, released their second full-length album, Nocturnes , this past October. The record boasts a collection of songs that are well-ingrained in darkness, but that’s not to say that a little light doesn’t shine through in a few melodic and lyrical corners. Some subtle and conspicuous light/dark parallelism resides beneath the electro-techno licks, melismatic ‘Ehs’ and ‘Ahs’, organ-based intros, and Radiohead-esque extros. Overall, the album’s very listenable beats and deeply poetic lyrics make it a step in the upward direction compared to Hailey and [...]

As was the case with Uh Huh Her's debut single, Not A Love Song , three years ago, their new one, Another Case, is SEX. Love it. Rock'n'roll on a highwire. Sometimes you hear a song and think "this is ME" - and no one would ever know. I like that.

[Happy November. And happy birthday to Eulogies' Peter Walker ...] Tuesday's touts: ► Shonen Knife have been fun for a long time, and on many continents. The Japanese pop-punk standouts are celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band, and they visit the Echoplex on the heels of their latest release "Osaka Ramones," a tribute to the band in whose shadow they've rocked for three decades. The high energy starts early, with L.A.'s Monolators and [...]

L.A. electro-pop duo Camila Grey and Leisha Hailey, aka Uh Huh Her , returns with a follow-up to their debut album "Common Reaction," and based on their official lead single from their sophomore effort "Nocturnes" is worth the three-year long wait. Although we previously got a taste of the new record with "Black and Blue," the new track "Another Case" is a fine indication that the duo has taken their strengths and put them to work in order to expand their sonic soundscape. Harmonies are plumper, synths sparkle more, moody keys spiral, and drums dramatically follow suit [...]

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7 Punk trio Screaming Females is celebrating its emerging adulthood by reissuing its first two albums in a very grown-up vinyl format. The band has come a long way since its self-released debut, Baby Teeth , was written and recorded in drummer (and then-high schooler) Michael Abbate’s attic six years ago. Like many angsty New Jersey teens, the members of Screaming Females started performing in their friends’ basements; unlike most New Jersey teens, however, the band gradually went from touring Jersey to touring nationally with bigger punk acts such as Against Me! and [...]

Frank Yang They don't call it Rocktober for nothing. Only March, with its legions of bands crossing the continent en route to SXSW offers nearly as many live music options as October and with such a plethora of shows to choose from, conflicts are inevitable. October 11, in particular, offers a tough choice for Toronto concert-goers: on one hand, you've got Sleater-Kinney/Helium/Minders supergroup Wild Flag making their Toronto debut at Lee's Palace on the back of their excellent self-titled debut , and on the other you've got hometown hardcore heroes Fucked [...]

You'd think after performing sold-out shows this spring and summer across the U.S. that Uh Huh Her —Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey—would be worn out. But that is not the case for the electro-pop sirens, who are gearing up for the release of "Nocturnes", due out October 11, and prepping for the Keep-A-Breast Tour begining October 8th. The first single from Nocturnes , "Debris" (produced by Grey and guitarist Brad Ackley), sets the tone for the 11-track album, which is described as a blend of "moody dance pop with guitar and synth-driven electro." Just in time for [...]
Uh Huh Her will be kicking off their "Keep a Breast" tour right here in Philly on October 8th. Throughout October-the official, National Breast Cancer Prevention Month-and beyond, UH HUH HER will headline the first-ever Keep A Breast music tour which supports breast cancer prevention and awareness. And if you happen to follow UHH's Leisha Hailey on Twitter, you know she's gotten attention lately for boycotting Southwest Airlines after flight attendants scolded her for kissing her girlfriend on one of their flights. Hailey's in activist mode which is sure to kick up the [...]
Not while the plane was in the air - that would be dangerous - but it looks like Southwest Airlines have kicked Leisha Hailey and Camilla Grey off a flight because they were gay : "No matter how quietly homophobia is whispered, it doesn't make it any less loud. You can't whisper hate," said the duo in a press release issued Sept. 27. "In no way were our actions on Southwest Airlines excessive, inappropriate or vulgar. We want to make it clear we were not making out or creating any kind of spectacle of ourselves, [...]
Remember back in June, when our news blog reported on a story about a lesbian couple who were rudely scolded by a security guard at Target Field after he witnessed them giving each other a quick peck
Filed under: News Gino DePinto, AOL Uh Huh Her was removed from a Southwest Airlines flight Sept. 26 -- something Leisha Hailey feels was the result of homophobia as she kissed fellow bandmate and partner Camila Grey. "No matter how quietly homophobia is whispered, it doesn't make it any less loud -- you can't whisper hate," said the duo in a press release issued Sept. 27. "In no way were our [...]
