Back on Monday night , Phish delivered arguably the best version of Undermind yet as part of a fantastic second set at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. The band has uploaded a pro-shot video from each 2011 show to Vimeo within a few days of the performance ending and for night one of the UIC run, Phish has selected Undermind to share with their fans. Joy , the first Phish album after returning from a 5 year break-up, is the quartet's most successfully accessible and mainstream friendly album to date. Comprised of straight forward rockers and catchy tunes that dabble near pop, Joy might be Phish's best attempt at producing something that does not necessitate being a die-hard fan to enjoy. And that may be the very reason why die-hard fans won't love this album. Undermind - Phish 2004 Undermind Sessions, The Barn, Burlington, VT Here's an outtake from the also recently leaked 2004 Undermind Sessions; a song that Trey has played (although substantially different) with TAB. Phish never played this song, but it seems very fitting that this will work its way into the Hampton setlists at some point. The lyrics are too spot on and the song is open to all sorts of funky jamming. Undecided, undefined Undisturbed yet undermined Relocated not retired Reprimanded and rewind Mystified and misshapen [...]
