When Underworld and director Danny Boyle decide to collaborate, good things usually result. Case in point: Trainspotting . So it's understandable why Boyle has again tapped the UK electro legends for a project, this time in the form of his forthcoming Frankenstein musical. Though details remain limited, The Guardian reports that Underworld will be providing a "soundscore" to the adaptation, which is set to debut in London on February 5th, 2011. Tickets for the production are now on sale .
Album #6: Grinderman 2 by Grinderman Perhaps the most intense album I heard in 2010 as Nick Cave shows no signs of letting up. Equal parts rage, humour, and genius. And a wolf on the cover. What's not to love? Video: Evil * Song #6: Bird 1 by Underworld The standout track from Barking ...I wish the entire record had this vibe. [...]

Filed under: The Hit List Some tracks on our list of the best songs of 2010 were so gorgeous they gave us goose bumps; others rocked our freaking faces off. Some left us blissed out or melancholy, while others propelled us onto the dance floor. The common thread? Each speaks to the kaleidoscopic nature of the musical landscape today, and we're embracing the beautiful chaos with [...]
Album #16: Barking by Underworld Do I wish all of Barking sounded like Bird 1? Yes. Do I wish the band had avoided all the guest producers? Yes. But since I'm a massive fan, any Underworld is welcome Underworld. While Barking is a bit too safe (what with actual choruses and relatively familiar song structures), it's actually a pretty fun album. And while I'm on record as saying that I prefer my electronic music dark, it can't hurt to have a little light every now and then. And [...]

When you reach David Lynch 's level, you can basically tap whoever you want for whatever you want. Case in point is a remix EP from the 64-year-old director, which will be released on January 31st via Sunday Best. Along with the previously revealed singles "Good Day Today" and "I Know" (which you can stream below) will be remixes from the likes of Underworld, Basement Jaxx, Boys Noize, Jon Hopkins, Rob da Bank, Sasha, and Skream, among others, reports DIY . The tracks will be available as a 2LP package featuring 180-gram heavyweight vinyl records, exclusive fine art [...]
A countdown of the year's best storyline-driven music videos.

There were too many to choose from, but I narrowed it down to 50. There's a lot of different kinds of music here, but it still all comes together to recap my favorite songs from a very fulfilling year. Stay tuned for Bear Schwartz's favorites later this week. Click that "Read More" link to listen to A LOT of tunes. Here's looking to 2011... 50. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.- "Vocal Chords" 49. Underworld- "Moon In Water" [...]

2010 is almost over and I resisted to post this in November. I guess it's a good thing I did. Kanye's new album came in at the end and made quite the splash. It seems every year, this list gets harder and harder to draft. It's near impossible to mention all of my favorite (fill in the blank) on one small list. I will try to spread it out over this month, with best shows, EP, songs, etc..... Best of 2010 ::: Albums Edition Mixtape [mp3] (it's long, be patient) Tracklisting [...]

Has the recession finally hit Ireland's music industry where it hurts? Sure, Underworld could reasonably be nudged into the 'slightly past their best' category of mega bands (and it's snowing hard outside), but tonight's RDS has gaps around the edges and down the back that you could march a herd of elephants through. Once Underworld appear on stage seemingly in time with the backing music, there aren't many squeezed into this jumbo warehouse who would actually notice if such an event did happen. This dance, duo, unbelievably, are now in their fifties. Karl Hyde and Rick [...]

Thirty Pounds Of Bone I want to start this post by apologising to Phil at Elba Sessions, for almost a year he's been raving about Thirty Pounds Of Bone, did I pay any attention to him, did I bollocks. Along comes Al from Armellodie and suddenly I find myself raving about him. Phil you were right all along and I'm sorry. If you fancy finding out what he was getting all excited about then you're in luck as you can download his song Crack Shandy in the Harbour taken from his forthcoming album Method, for free here [...]
Music video for "Bird 1" by Underworld from the group's 2010 release, Barking .
When Xerath and Winterfylleth came to London, Tom Dare went down to give himself a thorough bangover. We expect him out of traction next week. While the temptation to be marginally cynical about a record label showcase event is almost too much to pass up, the bill tonight is rather tasty - particularly so given [...]

Having released their eighth studio album back in September, Underworld have obviously decided it's high time for a new single already. Out on November the 22, the sinister, pulsating rhythm of Barking album opener 'Bird 1' will not only be accompanied by a whole batch of remixes but has also now been visualised in this beautifully understated Dylan Kendle directed video. Click here to view the embedded video. You can catch Underworld live on Tour at the end of the month: [...]
This past weekend, 15,000+ costumed partygoers danced the night away at LIVE 105's 2nd annual Subsonic Halloween Spookfest at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. I was the orange gummy bear pressed up against the railing up front, hands in the air, ready to be blown away by the night's talent. The line-up this year [...]

//the 802s are back... check this! Friend of TUFFEM UP! records, Farfletched nails this remix. So much Synth, so much music for my ears, Eighties influence done perfectly, has left me playing this loop after loop, this time Farfletched gets his hands worked on "Underworld" . This alone, could be a song by itself, .. and it should be, a driving bassline, reminding me of Barretso, a synth bigger than Chromeo, late night drive? ... make sure you have this in your playlist.. It will make you drive [...]
