![DJ Eastwood – U Ain’t Ready EP [No Hats No Hoods]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4942231_lg.jpg)
We've been seeing it heaps lately: artists re-releasing their back-catalogue to either attract new fans or keep their original fan base loyal. In this instance we've got No Hats No Hoods re-releasing DJ Eastwood's U Ain't Ready, with this release bringing two remixes from Spooky and Hemlock Recordings heavyweight Untold. Originally pressed on vinyl in 2003, U Ain't Ready sold over 5000 copies and got DJ Eastwood a guest mix on John Peel's late BBC Radio 1 show. It was (and still is) a classic 8-bar grime instrumental and pirate radio anthem, and was [...]
Untold returns, however it is not with new material for his label Hemlock. In fact it is his brand new techno focused label named Pennyroyal that is the focus of his attention at the moment. With the debut release coming this month from J. Tijn and a forthcoming material from Deep Medi regular Silkie we are treated to a sneak preview of what is to come by Untold himself. Pennyroyal Intro Mix -

Continuing the theme of toxic herbs, Jack " Untold " Dunning has announced the launch of his new label Pennyroyal. Let's just hope the name wasn't inspired by the fact that pennyroyal was a an abortifacient from times gone by. Thankfully, the new label will not impact on the proceedings over at Hemlock towers; their unrivaled output of dark, forward-thinking bass music will continue regardless. What it does mean is that Dunning can focus more on more "rough and ready" techno, kicking out lots of foot-friendly four-to-the-floor beats and bass. [...]

There was no getting away from EDM in 2012. While the three-letter hashtag has certainly caused buzz among radio stations and indie blogosphere alike, it's been a big year for dance on and off of the pop charts. Regional styles like footwork, juke, and Jersey club went through genre-bending booms, electronic trap instrumentals filtered their way into the rap charts and warehouse clubs, dubstep visited Cuba and Taylor Swift, and house stalwarts kept right on chugging along. We revisited every nook and cranny of the year in dance music and pulled together our 30 favorite tracks. Read [...]

From menacing bass to fractured house, producer and Hemlock label boss Untold refuses to be pinned to a genre (and you don't dare call his music dubstep). Alongside Ninja Tune's Illum Sphere and Chicago's own Jeff Pietro , Untold takes the booth at Primary this Saturday night for monthly Sovereign . Expect anything and everything, from grime to deep house to maybe even drum & bass. It's a don't miss night and we’re giving [...]

In its four years of existance, Hemlock has helped shape the landscape of UK electronic music in a huge way. While the label introduced the world to the likes of James Blake and Untold it also provided a home for more established producers to stretch their boundaries a little and experiment freely. To showcase their wares, label boss Untold has put together a rather special mix entitled "Chapter One". Included within the running order are some of the label's stand out moments and also some [...]

For someone with such a staggeringly low output, Joe is a highly regarded producer in the post-dubstep arena. With only three singles and the track 'Twice' emerging on the '116 & Rising' compilation last year, Joe has seemingly perfected the art of "treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen'. Artists like Zomby and Burial have built their careers on anonymity, garnering more attention than if they'd plastered every press release and Facebook page with pictures of themselves. Understandably then, the news of a new release from Joe has been met with nothing short [...]

Untold 's style is dark and uncompromisingly reserved. Also known as Jack Dunning, the boss of London-based experimental bass music imprint, Hemlock Recordings , Untold has curated releases from the likes of Mount Kimbie, James Blake, Cosmin TRG, and Ramadanman. He just uploaded two polished dance-floor jams to share with us- "Breathe", and "Caslon"- forthcoming on Hemlock. The stand-out for me here is "Caslon"- but you know that I have a special taste for cavernous rave euphoria. Wolfey [...]

When The Future Of Rock N' Roll passed away a couple years ago, this time for good, I had to make a conscious choice to mourn it, but to move on. I think if you ask the other staffers who were on board when it happened, they might feel the same way. It wasn't exactly a clean break, but that's the best way I can describe it, like something you loved, which is now dead and gone. Don't get me wrong, I miss my show and the station terribly, more than I thought I would when it [...]

Jack " Untold " Dunning is no stranger to these pages, his unique brand of bass music has always been a favourite here; whether it's his downtempo garage, throbbing techno or rumbling minimal house music, Dunning rarely puts a foot wrong. His new EP, the second in the 'Change In A Dynamic Environment' series promises to live up to all our expectations. One statement of his about this forthcoming record particularly stands out: "East London meets East Berlin for a grimey basement soundclash". One can but wonder as to the level of bass-fuelled techno [...]
