We heard "Embrace Me" Part I back in 2012 when three Swedes, John Dahlback , Lucas Nord and indie-band Urban Cone merged their musical talent together to create a melodic masterpiece, which Dirty South would later make famous with his transcendent remix. Lucas Nord has treated us to a revamped version of the original adding in an upbeat, electro powered tempo to the haunting vocal. With an infectious hook and dance-savvy rhythm, “Embrace Me part II” will surely become a favorite tune of the summer. Purchase: iTunes [...]
![Lucas Nord – Embrace Me part II (feat. Urban Cone) : Must Hear Progressive House from Rising Swedish Producer [TSIS PREMIERE]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4964580_lg.jpg)
Say hello to a fairly fresh name to most of you Lucas Nord . He is a rising Swedish house producer from Stockholm with a unique melodic hard hitting style. Today we have "Embrace Me part II" , an upbeat electro powered progressive house anthem that is the rebirth sequel to his part 1. The song features vocals from fellow Stockholm based live act Urban Cone really make the track something special. We get a futuristic sounding dance track that you can't quite categorize that can be enjoyed in any setting. We have been lucky enough to get the US [...]
First off world, VZLKS is no punk. WWE’s CM Punk on the other hand - stays true to his name. Alex Vazelakis (aka VZLKS ) hails from New York City and lets rip on a clerical original production called ‘Rad Times’ and another MNDR re-rub. ‘Feed Me Diamonds’ is starting to sound pretty good on these speakers... Provided on the bonus drop below, is The Magician’s latest “Magic Tape Thirty-Two” DJ mix. Grab it whilst you can. [...]

One of our Swedish discoveries of 2012, Urban Cone has dropped a new video, for the track “Searching For Silence” . With lots of lights and exotic dance moves, you won’t find a minute of stillness or silence in this. “Searching For Silence” is the third track in their debut album, Our Youth , available now in Europe via Universal. My outfit today is inspired by the dancers in the URBAN CONE 's new video SEARCH FOR SILENCE . If you're in need of some Swedish electro-popping then play this way please.

I feel like, if I really wanted to try, I could spend the next year writing and writing about things I missed during our 2012 hiatus, but that would make me miss everything that’s going on rightfuckingnow, and then this blog would become some strange haven for being a year behind, and that’s never the point of blogging, is it? But in my travels, there are some things that I’m compelled to talk about: like Urban Cone’s “We Should Go To France.” The Swedish outfit released an EP last year titled Our Youth, Pt 2 , and [...]
During their most recent trip to New York City, Swedish up-and-comers Urban Cone were awesome enough to stop by our studio in Brooklyn where they stripped down and reinterpreted two tracks of their debut EP, Our Youth . Watch "Black Ocean" and my personal favorite, "We Should Go To France", below and download the Buzzsession versions of both tracks for free. 'Buzzsessions' is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York [...]
![[Live Review] Ski Lodge, Urban Cone – Mercury Lounge, NYC](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4764016_lg.jpg)
Last week, I braved one of winter's most brutal weeks here in New York City to see Brooklyn's indie rock band Ski Lodge and Sweden's electro-pop outfit Urban Cone . Despite the frostbitten face and temporary use of my numbed out-limbs, the little trek to the Mercury Lounge was worth it. So kudos to all involved! It's not everyday you get a quality bill at an early show during the middle of the week. Ski Lodge opened the night with a handful of tracks off their self-titled EP, a collection of breezy [...]
Tuesday's things: ► Local Natives and Superhumanoids play their second L.A. show this week at the El Rey Theatre. (Local Natives also play an in-store at Amoeba earlier in the day.) ► Bootleg opens up both its rooms for two shows: The theater will host Adam Green & Binki Shapiro , (of the Moldy Peaches and Little Joy, respectively), who are touring in support of their self-titled album. [That's their video for "To Make Me Feel Good" above.] La Sera opens. ► Stockholm, Sweden's Urban Cone brings their [...]

Next week we're presenting a line up that we're particularly proud of. Swedish electropop band Urban Cone will be coming to Los Angeles for a headlining show. This band may have only been together for a little over two years, but within that time their first self-produced single "Urban Photograph" caught the attention of the internets and record company heads. Urban Cone were quickly signed to a major record deal with Universal and have their eyes set on releasing a few EPs before they go with a full length. Check out their single "Freak" below. Also [...]

"From time to time, there will come along someone a little younger, a bit more talented and better looking. In 1993, Leonardo DiCaprio blew us away on the silver screen. 2005, Christiano Ronaldo scored in his opening game for Manchester United. In 2010, Urban Cone entered our world and nothing will ever be the same again. Just scratching the surface, you’ll find kind of “perfect” pop music. Go deeper and you´ll discover something very unique." Enter Urban Cone . The Stockholm-based pop connoisseurs have earned tons of buzz with the release of their synthpop single "Kings and [...]
by Bill Pearis Indie Current: Is there any meaning behind the name Urban Cone? Urban Cone: We're all from the centre of Stockholm, living the "city" life. Plus we all thought it was a cool name, and when Tim our guitarist drew our logo (the pine cone) it felt like the obvious choice. IC: You guys classify yourselves as "Indie-Electro-Rock" on your Facebook page, but which genre do you guys feel you fall most into? UC: We actually don't think about [...]

Sometimes humanity can shock us with news that shakes the very foundations of our belief in our fellow person. Times like these are difficult no doubt, and there's not much that can be said that can make sense of it in any way. But it's these moments where more than ever, we need a reminder that the world is still a beautiful place, and as much as there is potential for evil, there is so much more good happening everyday that goes unheard. So here's to all that is good in life, and all those that work towards making the [...]

One country that I noticed that creates a lot of excellent bands is Sweden. Over the two years of running this site, we've featured a few from the country and today we have another called Urban Cone . The band is typically and electro-pop group that uses a lot of synth heavy stuff, but on "Black Ocean" they incorporate more elements like folk and indie. The band seemed to explore a more minimal sound on this one, which then builds into an explosion of indie rock, which absolutely I think they nailed perfectly. This song was off their most [...]

Winter is coming. That much is certain. As we prepare for the oncoming chills and towering skeletons that haunt our yards and woodlands, it's important to stock up on uplifting, joyous tunes. Unless you aim to wallow in your misery, winter is no time for dark melodies. After the Holiday season, Winter takes a turn for the worse, handing us a solid few dreary months to endure before the flowers greet us with open arms come Spring. Not to drone on about the gloomy months ahead, or make too many Game of Thrones references, but I just finished the second [...]
