Keeping with the electronic dance theme of this weekend, the fabulous Swedish band Val Venosta sent us this fun-tastic video and free mp3 of their song "Peace and Quiet is For Libraries" along with the following note: Hi, as we say in Sweden "Liten tuva stjälper ofta stora lass", which means that in the summer you can't just sit in your room and play with you synthesizers! Download Peace & [...]

Agent 86 protesting peace and silence in the library Val Venosta , a band from Sweden that is causing a lot of ruckus among blogs today, has sent us this oddly fantastic disco song and music video. The video reinterprets a 1963 public safety video featuring apes riding bicycles. The clip has been used by other artists before, such as Boards of Canada, but this song is waaaayyy more fun! If you love this as much as I do, you'll be happy to know Val Venosta has promised [...]
In Sweden they say " Liten tuva stjälper ofta stora lass ", which means that you can't just sit on your hunkers in your room and play with your synthesizers at summertime! So Val Venosta decided to embrace their few days of Swedish sun and to create a song that catches this special sort of feeling only summer comes up with. Outcome is a funky disco song with infantile vocals called "Peace and quiet is for libraries!" powered by freewheeling emotions. Their adequate video comes with monkey kids on bicycles. Isn't that something! And I'm [...]

Received a lovely email this morning from Pär & Erik from Val Venosta , a two man group from the south of Sweden. Formally of Ninjaspark, they later decided to leave to go on with solo projects. Val Venosta is their current pasttime and is inspired by 80s movie soundtracks and 70s punk. To be honest, this song they've sent sounds very D-I-S-C-O! Quite good though. Has a kind of Go! Team chant going on with some punchy strings for added discotheque effect. Listen: Val Venosta - Peace [...]
Here's a new cut from Val Venosta , a two man production team from Sweden, called "Peace & Quiet Is For Libraries". This is definitely a dope record, can't tell you how long I've had this on repeat. Please be sure to check out their myspace page! Below the mp3 is the visual for the cut also! Val Venosta - "Peace & Quiet Is For Libraries" Pigeons and Planes

VAL VENOSTA is yet another Swedish find, direct from the wonderful Swedesplease ! If you can imagine a chilled out, summery version of Justice...take a listen. PEACE AND QUIET IS FOR LIBRARIES ( DOWNLOAD ) One, two, three! Four, five, six! Seven, eight, nine, ten! Monkey heads!
Please take a look at Val Venosta , 2 swedes who have gone through a lot of 80s movies n stuff where they got their inspiration from.. they definitely have a big chance to become one of my currently most loved artists. This song reminds me a bit of The Go! Team . As soon as the song starts it just makes me go, stand up and clap: One, two, three! Four, five, six! Seven, eight, nine, ten! :> [...]

Wooo, I feel like a lil' kid again, 4-5-6 Lalalalaaaa.. What a party song! Val Venosta from Sweden makes electro with a funky bass and some really fun sounds with some sampled kids singing and a man talking. It's like a fun kid's song almost. Very uplifting indeed. A resembles a bit Justice's Dance, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's inspired by it, it's more in the happy indie-electro genre. Great. Here's the video for this track , I don't want to post it here 'cause it's [...]
O som em electrodisco do grupo sueco Val Venosta, que fizeram essa música para celebrar o verão. No vídeo, crianças-macado andando de bicicleta. "As we say in Sweden "Liten tuva stjälper ofta stora lass", which means that in the summer you can't just sit in your room and play with you synthesizers! So we, Val Venosta, decide it was time to embrace our few days of sun here and create a more summerish song. So check out "Peace and quiet is for libraries!" at our myspace, as well as the video." Val Venosta has loosened up a bit and created their sunniest, most frothy and downright fun song to date. It's called "Peace and Quiet Is For Libraries" and there is a video too! Peace And Quiet
Erik Berglinden and Pär Fredriksson of Val Venosta seem to be taking some time off from their music production duties to celebrate summer by heading out to paint the town red with their bike gang while declaring "peace and quiet is for libraries!". So round up the gang and play this track on the ghetto-blaster over and over, you too! Oh, and someone give a ride to that poor kid without a bike. Val Venosta - Peace And Quiet Is For Libraries!

Got an e-mail in the Tracasseur inbox. Got some damn good music. Got a new fine acquaintance, Val Venosta are our new friends. Val Venosta are two blokes from the southern parts of Sweden and with influences from Dry Martinis nothing can really go wrong. Also inspired by 80s movie soundtracks and 70s punk they got themselves a fresh electro robotic funk sound. They have just released their new single "These Days" along with a music video. The single also consists of the b-side track "The Abominable Computer at Castle Dragonwyck" along with a [...]

Val Venosta are a Swedish electronic band comprised of ERIK & PÄR, hailing from Halmstad, Sweden. And because I'm blessed w/ the great opportunity to run this blog, I get to find obscure gems like this hiding in my mail box. As they noted in their email, they've been played in several big podcasts and one of their songs reached the notoriety of being used as background music on Swedish Public Service Television. So take a listen to their newest single "These Days", which also includes the new track "The Abominable Computer at Castle Dragonwyk" and a "BFB Slow [...]

(1st pic I've seen of this duo) I'm going to write about Val Venosta til they drag me kicking and screaming from my keyboard. The band creates electronic dance music that always has a solid beat and usually adds just the right amount of processed vocals, robotic sound effects, and sci-fi samples. They just sent me this new song exclusively for Swedesplease readers. Enjoy! These Days Bonus I Think Billy Wilder Would Like This Womanizer [...]

Just things that found their way into my ears & have been played and enjoyed many times lately. Some new, some only new to my collection. ♫ The Box - 1990s (found at 17 Seconds ) new album ' Kicks ' due March 23 on Rough Trade myspace ♫ I think Billy Wilder would like this! - Val Venosta (thanks to Swedes Please ) Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf? (2009) myspace [...]

All of my carping about the greatness of the Swedish electronic duo Val Venosta has paid off with an exclusive sneak peak of their upcoming EP Who's Afraid Of Virginia Wolf . "I Think Billy Wilder Would Like This" expands on the earlier songs of Val Venosta. The robotic synthesized vocals and thumping beats are still present but now the melody is a little more present and the indecipherable chorus is pushed to the front of the song. All in all a great song to get 2009 off on the right foot. [...]

This post fits into the "if at first you don't succeed" category. I wrote about the robotic funk of Swedish group Val Venosta the other week and was soundly ignored. Listen to "Got To Go Home or go back and check out this earlier post of the songs "Kaleidescope" and "Union" and tell me this group doesn't deserve your full attention. Got To Go Home Bonus: Carlo In Q Minor

Alright, hold up. Sit down. I never say I've discovered the next best thing, do I? I never say I've found that one Swedish band that can break out and be adored by Stereogum, GVB, Pitchfork and Discobelle. I usually just present the music and let you decide. Until now. Val Venosta is all that and a bag of chips. They're all daftpunkblocpartylcdsoundsyste med. The band's been a member of MySpace since July 6, 2008. I'm guessing they didn't expect any press for at least a couple more days. So excuse them for [...]
