This is the 3rd part of a feature called Ruby Tuesday where i plug a new artist and hopefully give a small helping hand to get their music out there! Dayo is a Jazz-Folk influenced Singer-Songwriter with immense talent from the same music stable as John Martyn, Van Morrison and Nick Drake! [...]

Van Cleef are a Dublin four piece who deserve kudos for listing BMX Bandits and Terace Trent D'arby amongst their influences on their MySpace. They release their debut album 'Supervillainesque' next month and it's a good fun album. The twelve tracks are well crafted pop rock tracks that give a nod in the direction to a lot of Irish bands on the circuit in the mid 90's like A House and The Fat Lady Sings. This record is just what a recession needs! It's packed full of bright sing-a-long harmonies that makes full use of Diarmuid's distinct vocal [...]

Past Ruby Tuesday band Van Cleef have confirmed supports for the album launch in The Village on Friday 29th May: The singin' and a strummin' songstress Sarah Gleeson and wild n' raucous garage rock Mighty Atomics. If that's not a reason to show up early, I don't know what is. A review of said album is due on the blog next week. Check them both out on: www.myspace.com/themightyatomi cs www.myspace.com/sarahgleesonmu sic The brilliant Joy [...]

I'll try to bring some alternative news to the Irish music blogsphere now! A Murder Plan with humour! " Murder Plan are a vaudeville alternative blues band who wink a hint of chaotic mania. With songs & styles encompassing rock, tangos, Balkan gypsy sounds, blues & jazz, they mix & match motifs like a drunken arsonist in a Parisian police line-up. The band is made up of Stephanie O' Keeffe (vocals), Dara Melinn (guitar), Paddy Lynch (drums), Donal Melinn (bass) and Cathal Melinn (piano). None of the Melinns are related to each [...]

Van Cleef are a band who have been a feature of Dublin's Music scene for a number of years and are all set to release their debut album 'Supervillainesque' next month. According to their MySpace Van Cleef were "formed in the 'V' section of a second-hand record shop in central Dublin in 2006, their common affection for the upbeat pop of early Blur, the acoustic-punk of the Violent Femmes, and the hard rock of Guns N Roses began to produce a flood of 3-chord 3-and-a-half-minute songs celebrating their pop culture obsessions, with titles such as 'Meet Me in Vietnam', 'Scarlett [...]
