Van Halen have revealed additional details regarding their new studio album and upcoming U.S. tour. As previously reported, the iconic rock band will reunite with lead singer David Lee Roth for their first album together since 19832s 1984 . Van Halen is playing in NYC at Cafe Wah? tonight but according to David Lee Roth the band will be back in the Big Apple real soon. On today's episode of the Rock it Out! Blog, I ask if band reunions even matter. Black Sabbath, Van Halen, The Stone Roses and the Rolling Stones are reuniting/touring in 2012 but do people care anymore? Will Van Halen's new album be the first major album of 2012? It seems that way. According to the graphic up top (via Van Halen News Desk ), the band's first new album featuring singer David Lee Roth will be released on February 7th. VH's last album with Roth was 1984 which was released in 1983. It's also being reported by the site that the band's first new single/music video will be released on January 10th which is the same day tickets for their 2012 tour go on sale. [...]

This is sort of strange. Van Halen "announcing" a 2012 tour? No dates. No mention about a release date for a new album. No snippets of new songs in the video. Will this really happen or is this stunt going to backfire?

Well we all knew this was coming but now it's been made official. Van Halen is touring in 2012 according to their announcement video up top featuring a dancing David Lee Roth. No tour dates have been announced yet but tickets are going on sale starting January 10th so those dates should be coming pretty soon. We should also be getting some information on VH's forthcoming album that's also expected to be released in 2012.
