W ho is this kid in the back seat of my car? He looks familiar... H ello blog world. Just another lazy Sunday afternoon. A few older tracks below, I've been playing all day, that I'd like to share with you. Thanks to http://www.stoneyroads.com/ for this fantastic feel good remix Van She - "(Don't Fear) The Reaper [A B-LIVE ORIGINAL]" MP3 Old [...]
Word up Boppers. Welcome to another edition of Mercurius FM Monday . This time we've got some newer material with a synthesizer emphasis. Our first post is a hot remix by a short lived duo called VNDLSM. This is a fantastic electro house remix of Whitney Houston 's 90s Chaka Khan cover, I'm Every Woman. I used to listen to this remix a lot. It was really popular in the blog circuits, but is professional grade production. VNDLSM now lives on through AutoErotique. [...]

we had to go, no you should go, make your life alone ♫ Matt van Schie - Saturday Night After hearing the Memory Tapes remix of Matt's other track I was inspired to do some digging and came up with this groovy jam. Guitar noodling, bleep blooping, and breathy vocals add up to toe tapping goodness that would perfectly soundtrack some Memorial Day lounging. Those of us not in The States can just use it to ease into this week with a bit of aural lubrication. Matt's first solo [...]

Great remixes coming out the wazoo! This roundup sets the record for shortest time since the last one and it's still bursting with 16 jams! Remixes first, mashups second, zip file at the end... but good times above all! For more jams or by any of these artists use the 'tags' links at the bottom of the post! REMIXES ♫ Miike Snow - Billie Holiday (LightsoverLA remix) / Yes! Yes! Yes! It had been waay too long since we had a Miike Snow remix and now we get [...]

'Journey' is the new track from Van She bassist Matt Van Schie 's début EP 'Balmy Nights'. Produced, not only by fellow Van She-er Mikey Di Francesco ( Arithmatix! ), but also the amazing Diamond Cut the track is more chilled than the previous track we've heard, 'Saturday Night' and is a smooth, dreamy, summer SynthPop track that just floats round your speakers. Check it: ♫ Matt Van Schie – Journey (zShare) (MediaFire) You can pick up 'Balmy Nights' [...]

The latest single from Van She bassist Matt Van Schie 's solo project is called "Journey". It's a bit more dreamy than earlier release "Saturday Night". As our friends over at French Express described the new track: "epic new wave yacht rock" . It's produced by his band mate Michael Di Francesco but also by one of our favourites; Diamond Cut . Get the fine 4-track EP "Balmy Nights" here . Matt Van Schie - Journey Matt Van Schie - Saturday Night [...]

a true van she fanboy myself, i'm delighted to spread the know of michael di francesco's solo alias arithmatix - unknown to many feel good connoisseurs, and not broken-in just yet. michael, an anolog junkie at heart, seems to have proven himself as a just remixer so far. legend has it that michael's true talent is derived from the power of a peculiar leather jacket which he dons every morning, after the early rays of sunlight gently kiss his eyelids, causing them to crack open in a mighty stare. he is also said [...]

Van She put together a little 26min mid last year for super blog Asain Dan (check out the post actually for a nice little interview with Nicky from the band). Don't know how I only just found it, given I do love my Van She, but I did...and it still kills. They provide some of the best remixes out there (imo), and although they haven't put out that much of late, get your teeth into this minimix until the big shit hits at the end of the year (hopesfully). Van She - TechMiniMix '09 [...]

Changes. You may have noticed that it's been a minute or two since we've updated the blog. Well, I'll put to rest any fear you have that we stopped blogging. WE ARE BACK, and we're going to keep writing as much as ever. Two things have changed, which I'll address here. #1. We've been removed from The Hype Machine index. It sort of catalyzed this little break that we took. Basically, we're breaking their rule of being 'a label', and therefore can't be listed on [...]

In the run up to the release of Kaskade 's upcoming album, Dynasty , the Chicago-born DJ teams up with Dragonette on his new single, "Fire In Your New Shoes". If you've been reading umstrum||music regularly, you will know that we love Dragonette . This Canadian electropop band is great at crafting catchy pop songs with great hooks and that's exactly why their collaboration with Kaskade works so well. Dragonette - Fire In Your New Shoes [...]

So I just got back from DC early this morning. I really enjoyed the trip despite our efforts to scamper around the city to make the most of the one day that we were there for. We hit the major monuments but only for a couple of photos then got along our way. The view from of the Washington Monument from the Lincoln Memorial was amazing. If only I had some background music I would have taken it all in more smoothly. Thought I'd put up a few of the tracks that somehow took the stress [...]

I just got into Van She recently while working on my latest mixtape. They've been making noise in the blogosphere ever since their 2008 effort V with some awesome remixes. They covered everyone's favorite Blue Oyster Cult song, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" a while back. Here's Holy Ghost!'s remix.....It's great! Artist: Van SheSong: (Don't [...]

Hey guys, Over the next few weeks, maamf may go through a few changes. To start with, we've got a new header. Do you like it? Is it (a) hit/shit? The photo was taken by myself last year in ACDC lane down here in Melbourne, just opposite where Honkytonks/3rd Class use to be. The original sheets of paper read 'again' and the photo itself seems to keep on popping up with things I do. It's my background on my laptop and use to be the background for my iphone. Don't know what it is about the shot, but [...]

F or two people who have yet to release their first full-length album, Holy Ghost!'s Nick Millheiser (right) and Alex Frankel are more popular than you'd expect. But there's a good explanation- they're damn talented at what they do. They make the kind of music I wish I could make (but can't, don't and never will). Take a listen to any of their songs (seriously, just pick one, they're all fantastic) and hear it for yourself. Even if you don't love Holy Ghost!, your favorite musician probably does. It's no accident they've been called on to remix the likes of [...]

Holy indie dance rock batman, did you hear about that Sydney band, The Cassette Kids ? The quartet, which features singer Katrina Noorbergen, guitarist Dan Schober, bassist Dan Deitz and drummer Jake Read-Harber, came together from four distinct corners of the indie scene with each one of them eager to collaborate on a fresh sound. With influences that include The Rapture, Klaxons, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and No Doubt, Cassette Kids are making dancefloors wet with their catchy dance rock sound. Their first single. "Lying Around," form their first full length debut, Nothing On TV , [...]
