I have been listening to this song for the better part of the last 24 hours. I don't think I've been this overly obsessed over a song since the last time I was overly obsessed with a song... and that happened the last time it happened. Man, I love being specific. Vedera was recommended to me via Twitter, and although it took me a while to get to them, I'm more than thankful I found time in my jet set life to squeeze them in (spoken with the maximum amount of sarcasm allowed [...]

It's less than 60 days to the elections in November… my buddy The Prez "Obama" o' America has been hard on the warpath, doing his best to convince voters to go with Democrats. He's brought up plans like the $300 billion in tax incentives, he's been steadfast on ending the tax-cuts for the wealthy, and he's gone on ABC News to casually speak about how he deals with his kids, wife, and bad press. That's alotta-Obama in the past few days. I don't know where this will all lead to, but it's apparent that [...]
"Kansas City has always been a good place for local businesses to start up in hopes that the city will support and all will thrive. Streetside Records in Westport (home of the best bars and a haven for second hand/vintage clothing, great venues, and coffee shops) is where you'll see us chilling out when we're in town. Though Streetside is a chain (allowing u to get all the new hits) there is also a thorough vinyl and [...]

Vedera finally released their sophomore album " Stages " on Tuesday, October 6. The band have been working on the album since 2007. Producers Mike Flynn and Warren Huart were a part of this project, as well creating " The Rain " and " Goodbye My Love ". Unfortunately, not all songs made it in the album, " Forgive You ", " Back to the Middle ", and " Satisfy " were all cut, however, you can still find and listen to these songs on Vedera 's [...]
Private Dancer announces national tour, Rob Zombie adds TC date & No Age performs Hüsker Dü songs with Bob Mould at ATP.
I had almost written Vedera (ex- Veda ) off as a mediocre pop rock outfit after I started hearing songs off their latest Stages EP . I missed the days when they sounded like a crystalline and polished piece of pop craft, but still managing to feel personal. This recent MGMT cover reminds me of those days. The song floats whimsically like the original yet almost gives a different interpretation. Vedera will be on tour with Coldp-err, The Fray , this summer. Enjoy... [...]

Taking advantage of the pre-Labor Day etiquette, Tyson Ritter saunters around the sterile, open stage of the Aragon Theater in a white hipster tuxedo, complete with red studded Chuck Taylors that sparkle under the hundred different stage lights. The lanky-yet-restless frontman smiles at the audience, sweats over the microphone stand, and calls the females in the room "bitches." Mike Kinnerty and Nick Wheeler both laugh behind their guitars, while drummer Chris Gaylor picks at his beard as he waits to kick into "Dirty Little Secret." Despite the aggressive stage presence, The All-American Rejects love Chicago. Hours [...]
We haven't heard any news from Vedera -- whoa, remember them? -- in a while, but apparently, the Epic-signed Kansas City band is doing just fine. In fact, it/they just opened a couple of shows for pr... Continue reading "Kristen May of Vedera gets "Lucky" with Jason Mraz" >

It is actually a fairly common story: guy meets girl, they make a band, they break up and then the usual trend is that the fledgling band breaks up. Fortunately for the Philadelphia group East Hundred , they persevered and this break up resulted in the stunning debut that is Passenger . Guitarist Brooke Blair writes on their website, "We're not the first band to write a breakup album, and we're not the first band to have formed, in part, around a romantic relationship. And maybe we're not the first to [...]
Local Kansas City band Vedera were involved in an accident last week when their van and trailer hit a patch of ice on the way home to Kansas City and flipped. Lead singer Kristen May suffered a broken nose, and their sound guy had some surgery on cuts to his leg, but everyone is recovering. Meanwhile, the band has posted footage of their van after the accident. We're thankful the band only sustained minor injuries after seeing this footage: Vedera : [...]

The Airborne Toxic Event weren't supposed to start sometime around six (nor were they supposed to start sometime around midnight like their popular single). They were scheduled to play the annual the Night the Buzz Stole Christmas after local act Vedera , who had to pull out of the show. The Airborne Toxic Event was pushed into the opening slot, which was both a good and bad thing. Good because they were given extra time for their set, but bad because as the openers for the radio show, they undeservedly had a smaller crowd than the other [...]
Anberlin brought the hair, Eagles of Death Metal brought the guitar, Jack's Mannequin brought the vocals, Airborne Toxic Event brought the set that was too early in the evening for me to see, and the ... The renowned Shoreline Ampitheatre in Mountain View, Ca. was the site of the Download Festival 2008 on July 19, 2008. 27 bands played on two stages with only five minutes separating the bands on the rotating main stage. The lineup may have been devoid of a heavy hitting headliner but if you had ears in the [...]
Tons of pictures to share and two videos to enclose of the concert...provided you're interested. I'll do a quick review as it's likely this post will not interest you with my "witty" writing. I came kind of late (intentionally) and was surprised to see another band opening the show. It ended up being Vedera which I caught about half their set. There were only a handful watching them with the stage about 1/8th full and a small crowd actually listening/caring. They were actually pretty good live and I'll say that they were probably the performance of [...]

I realize what a terrible blogger I've been over the past few weeks, but things around here have been a crazy rollercoaster ride lately. Kinda like the weather here in Atlanta- temps from down in the teens up into the 70's with bright sunshine, then shifting into rain and tornado watches. Thankfully, SquirrelFood is tornado-proof. This week's mix has some pretty big names on it: Goldfrapp, Moby, The Black Crowes, & Sia, and some new faces: The Script, Vedera and Wisely. Plus, there's a track from Australian duo The Kin, who I met back in September at the Atlanis Music [...]
