Arctic Monkeys - Suck It and See (Domino) Seis anos se passaram desde que Alex Turner clamava "Don't Believe The Hype" no primeiro clipe do Arctic Monkeys .

I put this together for selfish purposes. Mainly because if I don't compile a list right now, I'll forget my favorites by the end of the year. I'm probably missing a lot of acts, but this is what I've been loving for the last several months. The year isn't over and I'm eagerly awaiting albums from Aphex Twin, M83 and U2. Side A Miracle Fortress-Miscalculations Destroyer-Savage Night At The Opera Cold Cave-The Great Pan Is Dead Hercules And Love Affair-Painted Eyes The Strokes-Two Kinds Of Happiness [...]
The 2011 lineup for Seattle's Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival , which takes place September 3-5th at the Seattle Center, has finally arrived. Topping the bill are legendary sensations Hall & Oates (w/ Fitz & the Tantrums, no less), rising hip-hop star Wiz Khalifa (w/ Macklemore & Ryan Lewis), folk staple Ray LaMontagne & the Pariah Dogs (w/ Vusi Mahlasela, and indie darlings Broken Social Scene (w/ The Lonely Forest). Other confirmed acts include Butthole Surfers, Leon Russell, The Kills, Sharon Van Etten, Minus the Bear, Mavis Staples, Little Dragon, Anti-Flag, and Seattle's own The Presidents of [...]

Click image to download full album Sounds like: Devendra Banhart, M. Ward "Vetiver - Ride Ride Ride" What's so good? Vetiver is the kind of Northern California band whose sound is so west coast-drenched that it doesn't matter where the members are actually from. It doesn't matter because they've clearly been drinking enough of the California Kool-aid to ensure that every tone and lick is [...]

Andy Cabic has a delivery that commands your attention, and "Worse for Wear" is no exception. Previewed from Vetiver 's fifth album, The Errant Charm , due June 13 via Bella Union/Sub Pop. Vetiver - Worse for Wear Vetiver: ( Official ) Rating: 8

June 14th / Sub Pop Track listing: 1. It's Beyond Me 2. Worse For Wear 3. Can't You Tell 4. Hard To Break 5. Fog Emotion 6. Right Away 7. Wonder Why 8. Ride Ride Ride 9. Faint Praise 10. Soft Glass
On it's face, the new song from San Francisco's Vetiver is less folk-centric than their previous output. "Wonder Why" is not "Everyday" - the first single from their 2009 release Tight Knit (and one of my favorite songs of that year). Andy Cabic and co. have picked up a slightly more electric feel in the...

Vetiver has just released another tune from their upcoming album The Errant Charm , out June 14th on Sub Pop. "Wonder Why" falls in line with the previously released "Can't You Tell" and shows the band shedding some of their folky side for a more pop-heavy sound. Stream below and pass over your email to download. Thanks Count Me Out for the tip.

Today, we get another treat from the Vetiverse in the form of "Wonder Why," the second single from Andy Cabic's forthcoming June 14th Sub Pop release, The Errant Charm . In sharp contrast to the hazy electronic loops of previous album leak "Can't You Tell," "Wonder Why" is about as straightforward as a pop song gets, chugging along pounding drums, a bright piano motif, and an easily repeatable chorus. If "Can't You Tell" is a smokey late-night touch of dreamy psychedelia, "Wonder Is Why" is a warm summer afternoon driving around town with the windows down and [...]
Vetiver - Wonder Why Vetiver - Can't You Tell Indie folk outfit, Vetiver, is set to release their upcoming record, The Errant Charm on June 14. Paste got the honors of releasing the track, the second from the upcoming album. After hearing these two tracks, I'm supremely excited for this release. Each song has a really lush, and rich quality of airyness. They feel as though the songs float along without weighting you down; the perfect backyard summer lounging songs. Grab yourself a copy [...]

![Vetiver – Errant Charm [Album Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3461515_lg.jpg)
Vetiver's albums difficult to review and Errant Charm is no exception. In fact, I'm going to blame bandleader Andy Cabic for this latest writing slump I've found myself in. Vetiver isn't about a hit single, although "Everyday" off of their previous release, Strictly Game , was a standout. No, Vetiver is more about creating a cohesive collected work that works from start to finish. Errant Charm feels like a breezy day. You know that feeling when you try to nap on the beach? You can hear the ocean, the seagulls, the distant [...]

My experience with bands recording covers records is that the proceeding follow up LP always tends to be much richer from that experience (see Phosphorescent's Here's To Taking It Easy after To Willie and Vetiver's Tight Knit post Thing of the Past ). Think of it as a rock & roll masters class. Fresh off his Ty Rex EP of T. Rex covers, Ty Segall is set to return with Goodbye Bread —yes that adorable hound photograph is the actual cover art—on June 21st via Drag City . And [...]

Although the weather in Toronto hasn't been too great lately it hasn't stopped my anticipation of summer. Over the next little bit, i'll be bringing you bands and artists who I feel epitomize the sounds of the summer. Vetiver is an American folk band i've been meaning to post for quite sometime. Fronted by talented vocalist Andy Cabic, the group is set to release their fifth album in the middle of June. The name of the album is The Errant Charm and the band's single Can't You Tell is as [...]
