![VIA AUDIO GETS COZY WITH US IN FRONT OF THE FIRE [BUZZSESSION]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4320025_lg.jpg)
Via Audio is on the prowl and ready to pounce with their upcoming yet-to-be-named LP. Recorded at comfy Brooklyn studio Sounds Like a Fire , the album shows glimpses of the elements that turned heads with their debut, Say Something Say Something Say Something , and sophomore release, Animalore , but is very much it's own beast. While the album doesn't have a release date or label quite yet, the band is busy playing gigs (recently with The Spinto Band , With Lions ) and, as [...]

By Erin Routson When I was sixteen, a boyfriend who was leaving for college made me a mix tape with Dashboard Confessional's "Age Six Racer" on it. His expression was earnest and correct: "Hey thanks, thanks for that summer" would echo in my head repeatedly when he moved away. That was what we used music for when we had just gotten our driver's licenses and fumbled around each other's bodies awkwardly any time we were alone. Instead of saying things out loud, or forming our own [...]

![FUCK YOU IRENE [PLAYLIST]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3681268_lg.jpg)
Hurricane Irene has made her way up the East Coast, and is hitting the fine city of New York. In my frustration and free time simply sitting around, I have made you a very special playlist of new music that you can stream/download so that even when your power goes out, you can continue your listening. Enjoy the music and get your Jenga , Monopoly , Life , Scrabble , Risk and/or Sorry! on. Enjoy the music and please stay safe. [...]
"Shadows on Behalf" sounds like it was recorded at several points throughout history - at a '60s soul festival, the set of a '70s porno, a pioneering hip-hop sample demonstration from the ‘80s... it's a wonderful smorgasbord of stylistic periods, to say the least. The best classification for it, and many of The Stepkids’ tracks, [...]
I'm assuming that if you read this site you're relatively familiar with Kickstarter . For those that don't know what I'm talking about, Kickstarter is an online platform that helps people raise money for creative ideas. It's used by individuals across the creative spectrum, though I've been exposed to it mainly because we get about 20 emails every week about one musical Kickstarter or another. Instead of writing about each one we like individually, I thought it could be fun to make a habit out of searching through [...]
Last month, Via Audio was a very special secret guest at our showcase at Pianos in New York City. It was pouring rain outside, which put quite a damper on the evening, but those that came out were treated to an amazing display of talent from the band. This quartet has been playing under the Via Audio moniker since 2004 when they released their self-titled debut EP, a record that garnered praise from the across the indie blog spectrum. Since then, the band has released two wonderful LPs and is currently [...]

I'm sure Brooklyn Bowl is a fantastic venue when everyone is there to watch the band performing. When there are only a few bowlers, no one really at the restaurant, and the performance area is completely full — I bet that's incredible. Unfortunately, none of those things were happening on Thursday night for Via Audio , who played to a distracted audience of about 100 and a whole bunch of bowlers and drinkers. Via Audio played almost exclusively songs from their sophomore album Animalore - songs that by and [...]

A metric boatload of instrumental talent crammed itself into Schubas on Thursday when Philly spazz-popsters Jukebox The Ghost teamed up with Brooklyn's Elizabeth & The Catapult and Via Audio . RFC naturally came out to document the piano-pounding blowout with photos, available after the jump. But first, a few observations: 1. Everybody in these bands can play their instruments really, really well. I mean, damn. Where did y'all meet, a hipster mixer at Juilliard? (Actually, Berklee College of Music, [...]

Brooklyn indie foursome Via Audio releases "Olga", which exemplifies the currently wildly popular lo-fi aesthetic both musically and visually. Brooklyn indie foursome Via Audio released their sophomore LP Animalore this past March, following the critical success of 2007's Say Something. Spoon's Jim Eno is again the production mind behind the latest lo-fi pop tunes of the Berklee College of Music-trained musicians. Via Audio holed up in Eno's Austin home last year to develop and record the tracks for Animalore. Today's premiere of their new video of "Olga" exemplifies the currently wildly popular lo-fi aesthetic...
