We posted Video Villain 's 'Fearless' video a few months ago but we're posting it again to remind you that it finally sees single release today. It's been a long time coming for VV, so let's hope their brand of noisy Indie-ElectroPop srikes a chord with the masses and they receive the attention they deserve. 'Fearless' is available from iTunes or TuneTribe with more outlets coming. Video Villain @ TuneTribe

The DIY ethos epitomising pairing of Marie France and Lucy Catherwood continue their fuzzy disco, dance, industrial and electro edging approach through the disjointed, yet fiendishly driven new single, 'Fearless'. Shades of Queen Adreena, Ladytron and Client all blur into an independent spirit extolling vocal display that's littered around a hanging, fuzzy electro backdrop. Zapping spacey interludes and distorted vocals aid the eccentricity on display as the song builds up heart, intensity and distorted rhythm. A chilling cinematographic outro' aids the mood implanting touch and, a stirring offering is closed out. Video Vilain possess range, quirkiness, belief and [...]

'Fearless' By Villain. Video Villain, rose from the smouldering ashes of electro art popsters Dead Disco producing skewed sci-fi Goth-pop electronica influenced by everybody from David Lynch to Trent Reznor to futuristic B-movies such The Demon Seed . We interviewed Marie and Lucy back in 2009, ( HERE ) and at last almost two years on the debut single 'Fearless' , is to be released for download on February 21st . Hurrah. There's a video to accompany the single which [...]

If, like us, you need something with a bit of backbone to get you through the last working day of the week, why not give Video Villain a try? This electro-happy duo have brought Fearless to our attention, an electric stomp which packs enough punch to destroy an expensive unusable spy plane. Kicking off with more balls than your typical Sky Sports pundit, it's five and a half minutes of sheer bass and tingling keys that'll leave you needing something a bit more subdued to bring you back down for the weekend. Or you could use it as [...]

It looks like all things Video Villain are about to blow up! The girls have premiered their first proper music video, for 'Fearless' and it's pretty damn slick. As a music fan, writer, promoter and musician myself it's always really exiting to watch a band from infancy to something really special. e.r. was, I believe, the first place to write about Lucy and Marie , way back in the distant past of February 2009, after they rose from the ashes of a broken Dead Disco. Carving their mark with raw, emotive electronics on [...]

Strange things are afoot at the Video Villain camp! It's been a while since we heard anything from Video Villain but now it looks like their EP (or more!) might be getting a proper release! Keep your eyes peeled! Video Villain @ MySpace

So, Little Boots and the campaign for her debut "Hands" is in overdrive now. Apparently it's quite a good album, which is believable considering the quality of material floating around the internet. Actually, we expect blogosphere to go into meltdown when the thing is released, if they don't die of excitement first. That picture? It's the band she used to be in, they were called "Dead Disco", they were around before the internet existed (lie, but we didn't check blogs back then) and after a few releases they suddenly split up, nobody really knows why... it's a [...]

It strikes this blogger that New Wave band Dead Disco splitting up was one of the best things to happen to UK music in the past few years. On the one hand it gave us Little Boots , and on the other it allowed Marie and Lucy to follow their own path. That path is Video Villain , who's demo. I am absolutely loving. A combination of noisy beats and low-fi synth work provide the backing for some seriously catchy songs, which culminates in something that somehow manages to be raw and [...]

Video Villain gets the honor of being our first interview of 2009! Congrats girls and guy! :) SMILE: So, who is Video Villain and how long have you guys been performing together? There isn't much info on you out there, so give us the beef. Video Villain: We've known each other for a few years, we used to play gigs together when we were in different bands and sometimes meet up for a drink. It was actually when we met up for a drink more recently that we [...]
