Vancouver-born and Montreal-based Grimes—or Claire Boucher—played Toronto’s Lee’s Palace on September 21 st along with two opening acts. Claire Boucher (aka Grimes ) is no stranger to the strange, but this time the Canadian goth-pop sweetheart might just have out-weirded herself. Grimes' new video for “Genesis,” the second single from this year’s Visions , is a little Mortal Kombat, a tad witchy Britney Spears, and plenty awesome.
