Jonathan Higgs walks through a volcanic winter in Everything Everything's video for " Duet ." Directed by and starring the singer himself, Higgs wanted to visualize the song's love at the end of the world motif through the powerful imagery of Mount Vesuvius. In de jaren negentig van vorige eeuw waren er ineens vrouwelijke rockbands. Hole is het beste voorbeeld, en in hun kielzog kregen ook een paar andere bands een klein succesje. Een van die bands is Veruca Salt. Hoewel de band toch ook twee mannen op drums en bas had. Well this is about the best thing I've heard in a minute. Volcano are a three piece from Sweden featuring two strong female presences. And a dude on drums. Think Ramones meets the Pixies and the Throwing Muses. The music on the new EP Me Me Me is angular with sharp edges and strong vocals. Voocano ! laid dormant following their 2008 release, Paperwork until earlier this year when Chicago art rockers announced a new record, Piata . I dug the title track slash debut single that dropped back in March and its fuzzy, synth bass and crooning vocal. But Piata finds delivers on an array of forward-thinking sounds.
