Waajeed has steadily been releasing a bunch of videos and previously unreleased remixes from some magical vault in recent times but this one really caught my attention. When the original version of this track was
Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god. Whaaaaattt!!! Who the hell starts a song like that!?! Only Detroit's best rap group in history. Slum Village was a cornerstone of style for too many emcees to name. "The Hustle", was one of the many tracks they displayed this effortless swag. DJ Dez was the DJ for Slum for many, many years. Despite his recent fallout with the group, he was the perfect person to breakdown this classic bootleg. - Jeedo http://bling47.com/site/dj-dez -the-hustle/
I was approached by Universal UK a few years back about doing an album for TV licensing. They asked me to chop up and recompose library tracks from their archive – sounds like a dream, right? I wanted to do epic, upbeat tracks that would go well with the cinematic environment they were meant for. Coultrain and I whipped up this track with the legendary Paul Randolph on bass. - Jeedo http://bling47.com/site/coultr ain-shes-a-hustler/
This was an interlude track on a beat CD from the early 2000s. The track wasn't finished, but the basic, raw elements were enough for me. I love this joint. I dug deeply into my unseen video footage to bring you along as Q-Tip took me and Dilla to New York's world famous The Sound Library in 1999. This was the trip where we picked up Fred Miller's, "Sounds of Love – A to Zzzz." I have finally been reunited with this record thanks to DJ Akalepse. Get a copy and put it on ice. Thx [...]
Curren$y-Rapper Weed Download audio file (Rapper-Weed-prod.-by-Tony-Bai nes.mp3) Waajeed-Starz Download audio file (Starz.mp3) On 4/20 we're inclined to re-up the compilations that $uli and Noah put a lot of work into. There are dozens of classic songs that are fitting for the day and some rare gems as well. Plus, these were compiled years ago, so listening to them is kind of like a trip down memory lane. Recent Plug Research signees Sonnymoon have been making quite the buzz for themselves over recent months. With a couple projects in the bag, we are waiting in anticipation for their forthcoming proper debut full-length. To hold us over, producer Waajeed comes correct with a stunning refix of the early Sonnymoon cut, "Houstalantavegas". Dragging in some lush strings and tricky percussion work, new light is shed on this already fabulous cover track.

When Sonnymoon dropped Golden Age, we were all blown away by their rendition of Drake's "HoustonAtlantaVegas." Blind I comrade Waajeed was just as impressed by the duo and inspired to do this remix of the track we all love so much. Waajeed's version is and upbeat and it gives the song a party vibe. Sonnymoon is currently touring and I got a chance to catch up with them at Santos Party House in NYC. They performed some music from their new album and [...]

I give up. Out of nowhere, once again, Blu takes to his Bandcamp and liberates a 9-track remix album to accompany last year's NoYork . There are remixes on the album from Hezekiah, Von Pea, Waajeed, and more. Who knows how long this will be available, but act fast, because it might be gone before you know it.
Baatin was the eldest of my friends. Born Titus Prentice Glover, we met in the 3rd grade at Courville elementary. I knew then he was a different type of dude. There was a wedding I went to with my family – needless to say the the star of the show was little Titus. Swagged out in an all white suit, dancing and entertaining the crowd. A true showman since a young buck. We lived around the corner from each other on the east side of Detroit, not to mention my grandmother and [...]
Back in '07 when Whitney Houston was looking for writers to work with on what would be her new 2009 album, I Look To You , Cee Lo Green wrote and recorded a demo of what would become "All Alone Now". Yesterday a demo recording of Cee Lo's take appeared online with production from Detroit's Waajeed via his Bling47 website. Speaking about the song Waajeed wrote: "As far as the lyrics go -- Cee-Lo nailed it! At the time, Whitney was still going though her very public separation with [...]

Exclusive: Never heard before Cee-Lo x Waajeed collaboration. It was wriiten and demo'ed for the late, great Whitney Houston circa 2007. The A&R's at RCA were calling any and everybody to find a sound for (what would become) her 2009 release, I Look To You . I worked on seven or eight different versions and finally deciding on this one - with additional parts done by Simon Katz from Jamiroquai [...]

I've been waiting for this mix tape for a minute... but thanks to my less than eagle eye, it looks like it dropped a few weeks back. But there's nothing wrong with a bit of catch up, especially when there's quality involved. So here it is, ladies and gentlemen: Jack The World , the latest offering from the crown prince of Camden, Yungun (a.k.a Essa). Deftly mixed by regular partner in crime DJ Mr Thing, Jack The World features collaborations with Guru, I.G. Culture, The Nextmen, and Waajeed of Platinum [...]
