San Francisco Electro-Pop outfit Blackbird Blackbird seems to be moving toward electro from their previous shoegaze/dreampop/chillwave position while keeping hold of their psychedelic appeal. Their new single, "Give You Everything" does indeed deliver - this vitamin is glazed in electropop synths, sprinkled with playful vocals, & set to a progressive beat. So after a brief retirement from the blogosphere I am back again. I think my new years resolution will be to post more music here. Over the break I spent a lot of time working on tracks for the EP I'm working on and got a lot done on some remixes/collaborations. Back in 2008, Walter Meego 's song "Forever" was all over the place: TV shows, beer commercials. It was the perfect vehicle for the dance-centric band to ride to greater popularity. But instead they seemed to disappear. I learned yesterday however, thanks to a Yvynyl post, that the band is still around making music. Every so often, you allow yourself to hear something that you usually wouldn't have the time for, and it blows you away. And that's what keeps you plugging away at new music, with every expectation that you're bound to find your new favourite band. Thanks to yvynyl , this might have just happened. Walter Meego's music is so grand and streamlined that you're left stumped as to guessing why it hasn't projected the act into the mainstream.
