A day that started warm and sunny was quickly overtaken by wind and fog, but that did not stop 40,000 fans who make the trek to Golden Gate Park for the first day of this year’s Outside Lands festival from having a good time. RR The sticky song of the week award goes to Washed Out for creating a fantastically dreamy remix of My Morning Jacket’s “Outta My System” that has been in my head ALL week. The chorus sounds like it’s floating through space and he replaced most of the lyrics with trippy spoken-word interludes about the capabilities of the mind and beyond. My favorite: “We all believe in something. Even if we believe there is nothing to believe.” [...]

We've heard a couple of songs from Just Tell Me You Want Me - A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac over the past few months. Today we get to stream the entire project which features covers of Fleetwood Mac from the likes of Tame Impala, MGMT, St. Vincent, Washed Out, The Kills and Lykke Li. WASHED OUT (aka Earnest Greene), recently voted Georgia’s Dreamiest Electronic Musician (by me), has turned MY MORNING JACKET ’s ‘Outta My System’ from a slow burn psychedelic stomper to a sparkling piece of err… slow burn psychedelia? In 2009, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs filled in for The Beastie Boys when MCA was first diagnosed with cancer. In 2010, Phoenix played the biggest show of the band's career.
