Wax Fang's latest single since their 2012 Mirror, Mirror EP has already featured on these pages upon it's release, but now you can treat yourself to the peculiarly kind of great video for the track. In it, lead singer Scott Carney unleashes his inner drag queen and proceeds to dream about a world full of blonde women (or cuts-out and altered photos of them, at least). Watch it below, and stay until the end for the strangest money shot you're likely to see this year. [...]
Several songs from the Louisville band appear on Sunday's episode of the animated series.

Casting off the dark gloom from their Mirror, Mirror EP from last year, Wax Fang have returned with a new single. What remains is the wonderfully verbose titles ("The Blonde Leading The Blonde"), the stadium-bound grandeur, and the power guitars. Complete with it's own little horn section and triumphant harmonies, you might leave the song wanting to go do something, whether it be save people from a burning building or just make your dinner. Either way, it's an invigorating three minutes that'll set you up for the day. Listen below. [...]
Our videos today come from Grandchildren , Fenster, Cheek Mountain Thief and Wax Fang. Grandchildren kick us off with a surreal trip through a forest of stuffed animals accompanying their otherworldly tune Sunrise. And talking of surreal, next is Fenster's brilliantly animated video for Spring Break , a trip that ranges from parties on the back of a killer whale, people being zombified by tainted "Dude Ale", humans being turned into dogs, killer dolphins, and the most outlandish scenes from a party poisoned by bath-salts. [...]

Official music video for the second single from Wax Fang's 'Mirror, Mirror' EP (Karate Body Records), directed by Tony Balko (www.vimeo.com/tonybalko). A small group of melancholy heroes try to get their groove back despite the efforts of zombies, Vietnam Vets and and a bona fide lady killer, as Wax Fangs's titular wordplay is used as a basis to combine footage from Dawn of the Dead, Dead of Night and Night of the Hunter. Appropriately the new video for Wax Fang's "Dawn of the Dead of the Night of the Hunter" is full of clips from the movies it namedrops in its title. Director Tony Balko mixes up and mashes together horror footage from decades past, full of violence, the undead, and violence directed at the undead. Watch the video for the Mirror, Mirror EP cut below.

Wax Fang's third full length, Mirror Mirror , will see a release on Karate Body Records on the 30th October. The title track is a full on sonic assault of classic southern influenced rock and something altogether more spacey. #ForecastleHangover Flying Lotus pictured above Yes, Forecastle Hangover. Not in a literal sense... well, maybe in a literal sense from Saturday night... but hungover in the sense that we were exhausted, dehydrated, had physical discomforts, aches, pains, etc... and we would most certainly do it all over again in a heartbeat. A heartbeat, or whatever beat Flying Lotus was treating us all to on Friday night. Typically people partying and playing loud music under a highway gets the fuzz involved like in Free Willy (yeah, I [...]

Brooklyn's Sleigh Bells will be playing Forecastle on the opening day, so the bar is going to be set pretty high for the rest of the weekend. If you were at the sold-out Zanzabar show a while back, you know what I'm talking about. Since the Z bar show, they have released a new album (below), played SNL and countless other TV performances, and basically took over the indie airwaves. Call it experimental pop, or whatever, but the bottom line is that it hits hard and you can dance to it. Sounds like a [...]
There's a huge range of Velvet Underground material, so you can imagine our uncertanty as they took the stage on Saturday. Would it be the hits? Would it be their crazier, longer material that began to hint at the madness Lou Reed would later do in his solo career? It was actually a bit of [...]

Wax Fang . Cabin . Riverfront show. Free. Doesn't get much better than this. It is all going down Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater. Cabin goes on at 7:30 and Wax Fang will play immediately thereafter (ignore the times on the "flyer" below). I'm sure you all are familiar with each of these bands, so I'll save my breath. If you just moved to Louisville, or have been without internet for the last 5 years, check out some of their tunes below. See you at the show. [...]

As you have probably ascertained, given Dodge's lineage, MOKB has something of an open door policy regarding artists from Louisville. The latest entry from River City comes from The Fervor , a female-fronted americana-esque quartet that has only recently released their latest, Arise, Great Warrior . Single Crazy For The Feeling was directed by Wax Fang's Scott Carney and Ryan Daly of the Louisville Film Society, and shot on location in Louisville and historic New Albany, Indiana.

now that 2010 (and for that matter, the first decade of the 21st century) is over, we have asked several friends of 37 Flood to share with us their favorite Louisville shows and local albums of 2010, and their favorite Albums, Books, Movies, TV, and other media events of 2000-2010. Over the next few weeks we will be posting the lists, and we hope you will share your own lists with us. just leave your lists in a comment and be entered to win one of several great prizes including a copy of the new Deloreans CD "American Craze" or [...]
Live in Louisville? Like music? Then here you go. Tickets just went on sale this morning. So if you're like me and just woke up, then get to it now because this will sell out. If it doesn't sell out, then I've lost hope in all of Louisville. With things like Skull Alley closing, and nearly non-existent attendance to support local shows, here is your chance to go out there and try to help. Not saying this show will save everything and make it all better, but it's something you can do to show your support for not only ear [...]
