Who's that handsome fellow? It's been awhile since Ottawa's We Fled Cairo has released anything. In January they dropped an EP called Patience Is A Curfew . A few surprises within the band. Once a duo, now a trio with new member Robert Peace on bass. Another surprise is vocals on the EP. Unlike this review , I really like the new change. Well a band needs to evolve sometimes and can't just stick to one format. [...]

by teepoo We Fled Cairo is a group of people who write some angry sounding music. Although they didn't always. They seemed much happier in their first album which I enjoyed much more. Among some of the new stuff I dig Stealing Stolen Bikes , it's a piece of instrumental flailing that has some graspable hooks that seem oh so simple. Then it's all over in a minute and you're like damn . We Fled Cairo- Stealing Stolen Bikes
![Houseshow with We Fled Cairo, Currents, Albatros & Purple Ghosts [December 10 ,2011]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3921558_lg.jpg)
With alot of events that happened on December 10, 2011. I took the unconventional route and went to some basement house show. I haven't been to a house show since the summer time. Four bands playing under one roof. The first act to play was Purple Ghost . Just a solo guy on a guitar. It was a very mellow opener. Things kick it up a notch with the loudness. [...]

Ottawa's We Fled Cairo was the second opener for for Lymbyc Systym on March 14, 2011. Haven't seen them play live in quite some time. All I have to say was that it was a pretty loud rocking set. At least it the band was nice enough to bring earplugs since their set was really loud. For those that don't know what they sound [...]

The first time I saw We Fled Cairo live was (coincidentally) on April 20, 2008 . They opened for Woodhands at Zaphod Beeblebrox. Two years has passed for the duo of Dave Mandia who plays Guitar, Bass and sometimes Drums & Richard Monette who plays Drums. They finally released something substantial called Adult Braces. Apparently its stated as an EP, feels more like an LP since its eight tracks and pass 30 minutes. Adult Braces is a indie experimental instrumental post-rock album. Very trippy, grungey and shoegazing sound. Being an instrumental album, [...]
