Kitty update: She's holding on only by virtue of scheduling. I originally had an appointment for her to, well, you know, go to that final appointment in the sky yesterday, but I had difficulty trying to find an empathetic vet assistant for that day (please--when I'm making arrangements to put my cat to sleep, don't say you'll have to "put her on ice" for the weekend) so I'm waiting until Tuesday because I have Veteran's day off. I'm going to spend the morning with her and then we'll take her out to my favorite vet and vet assistant who moved [...]

We Landed on the Moon! recorded their self-titled debut album in 2006 after Jay Chandreskhar (Super Troopers, Beefest), asked them for a song for the soundtrack of the Dukes of Hazard remake. After that, and although they're said to have enclosed astronaut ice cream in each media package (note: still waiting for ours), the band, which blindly sent out their record to radio stations around the country, made a few non-solicited waves. They're about to release their newest LP, These Little Wars ; an album composed of so much catchy indie electronic-ish pop that I'm already [...]

We Landed On The Moon ! is a 5-piece band originally out of The Red Stick (Baton Rouge), Louisiana. If this band receives any notoriety it's likely going to be based on Melissa Eccles' vocals which sounds like a young Jenny Lewis fronting Rilo Kiley. It's really hard to get away from that comparison, they also sound alike. I made that comparison myself but they referred as sounding like Rilo Kiley, Ra Ra Riot and Blondie. I'm not sure what I would compare the band to but it wouldn't be Ra Ra Riot, they do have great pop sensibilities. [...]
Friday, September 19, 2008 With new responsibilities at work, over a hundred emails with mp3s sitting in my inbox and a huge stack of albums on my desk, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll manage to catch up before the year ends. Don't be surprised if there are quite a few EPs over the next few weeks. Here's one now! Enjoy. : The Gentle Guest - Down At The Still : This band really surprised me since not only do they sound like a bizarre [...]

Occasionally over the course of this blog thing I'll run across a band, quite like them, maybe write a little something about them, but then they drift out of my universe. We Landed On The Moon! are one such band. More than two years ago, I heard a handful of their songs, found [...]

We Landed on the Moon!: John, Melissa, Josh, Jon, and Spence, recorded their self-titled debut album in 2006. The band formed after Jay Chandreskhar (Super Troopers, Beefest), asked them for a song for the soundtrack for Dukes of Hazard. Perhaps it was the tasty astronaut ice cream enclosed in each package or just dumb luck; the band, which blindly sent out their record to radio stations around the country, was a hit! After successful shows in their hometown of Baton Rouge, the quintet went on to conquer other cities around the United States in a van that ran out [...]

We Landed On The Moon! are a band from Baton Rouge, LA that has been getting a lot of attention over the past several months. They are an indie rock band known for the sultry vocals of Melissa Eccles. This week is our turn to check them out, as they head east for a full scale tour. Over the next several days, they will have quite a few dates in the region: 4/17 @ DC9 , DC 4/18 @ Rusty Nail , Philly 4/24 @ 8x10 Club , Baltimore [...]
Announcing a band coming to Auburn is something I never imagined i'd have the chance to do here on the blog, but i'm more than happy to do so.

The Slip / Eisenhower ( Bar/None ) Eisenhower is meant to be The Slip's emancipation proclamation from the jam-rock pigeonhole into which they'd been stuffed over their career thus far, and on it they seem to be diving into the broader musical buffet like a man coming off a long fast. Over the course of eleven songs they offer up pop-culture quoting pop anthems, string-laden orch-rock, power ballads, and all points in-between. While are still traces of their patchouli-stink past, [...]
As promised yesterday, here's the second part of J.A.'s recommendations: OMERTA New big Manchester band. "One more minute" is a brilliant song!!! http://www.myspace.com/omertam usic http://www.omerta.co.uk/songs. html One More Minute is a great Brit-Pop-tune. Reminds me a bit of the Editors though... not that this is a bad thing! Wouldn't mind hearing more of these guys here! [...]
We Landed On The Moon! are Melissa Eccles (Vocals), Stephen Bowling (Bass), John Lambremont (Keyboards, Guitar), Jonathan Kolich (Guitar) and Ryan Rushing (Drums), an explosive pop–rock five piece from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They combine powerful songs with beautiful vocals and lyrics to great effect, and are, in fact, awesome. Following the release of their eponymous debut album (downloadable for UK fans from iTunes or bought in real life from AwareStore and CD Baby , they've picked up a lot of fans (including myself) on the Internet and we caught up [...]
We get a lot of albums sent our way at Harmonium, and we do our damnedest to listen fully to each and every one. But given the limited number of hours in the day, we can't always get to a full review in a timely fashion, which is a shame since that means a fair number of great artists slip through the cracks.
