Michele Civetta You would be forgiven for assuming that you had Ladytron figured out. It's all right there in last year's career-spanning compilation The Best Of Ladytron: 00-10 ; the Ladytron formula. Thick synths, robotic yet danceable beats and above all, the duelling icy vocals of Helen Marnie and Mira Aroyo (though the edge in detachedness usually went to Aroyo on account of her stern Bulgarian accent). It's a sound that was perfectly in style when that which they called "electroclash" crested in the early part of the [...]

Medicine is the second single from the band's sophomore album and it could be just what the doctor ordered
Around a month we told you about We Were Promised Jetpacks upcoming album In The Pit Of The Stomach and gave you a listen to "Act On Impluse" . I think we said something like it was a hell of track…well now we have the first actual single off the album titled "Medicine" and it is also quite the track. It has a little bit more of a grinding sound to it. This album is shaping up to be awesome.

"Medicine" is the newest drop from WWPJ's anticipated In the Pit of The Stomach LP. "Medicine" is tight, compressed, focused. It's a compact dense piece of the best of UK rock right now. We couldn't be more psyched for the LP. Send us the LP! We Were Promised Jetpacks - Medicine We Were Promised Jetpacks ( Twitter ) ( Facebook ) Rating 8.7

Until just recently I had decided that I was now too old to go to music festivals, the thought of waking up in a tent just really didn't appeal to me anymore. In short I was starting to think along the same lines as this grumpy old sod . However, when Randolph's Leap offered me one of their 'plus ones' for this years Wickerman Festival, I found myself changing my mind somewhat. I used to be the kind of person who looked to see who the headliners would be, this time round though I found myself looking at the [...]

Holy fuck a McMoly, time certainly does fly in doesn't! Was it really way back in May that we announced that myself and Ayetunes were going to putting on another one of our 'leg-end-ary' gigs together. I guess that time has a certain way of creeping up on you, as in less than a week away we'll be taking over Stereo for our fourth 'vs' gig and desperately pretending that we're proper promoters and that we know what we're doing (usually the bands see us right!). In case you'd forgotten the line up it looks [...]

Tweet We're almost there. It's almost time, time for We Were Promised Jetpacks to drop the follow-up to their fiercly raucous debut album "These Four Walls". Monster songs like "Quiet Little Voices" and "It's Thunder And Lightning" seem to have been replaced with equally as gargantuan songs like "Act On Impulse" and this new song "Medicine", and I'm glad to see that not only have they kept their signature heavy-Indie-Rock sound but they're backing it up with some huge hooks [...]

The boys from We Were Promised Jetpacks have an album coming in October and a vanguard track pumping with the staples for must hear thanks to pounded drums and guitar cooperation along with purpose-filled lyrics. The upcoming album titled In the Pit of the Stomach doesn't seem to deviate from the progressive pop-rock that made These Four Walls such a successful debut in 2009. We Were Promised Jetpacks - Act On Impulse What's the Weekend Burn? It's [...]

Well, we're just about halfway with the reposts... Today, we feature volumes 9 and 10, which were originally posted in August 2009. Volume 10 holds a special place in this blog's history, because that's when Aaron from Tsururadio offered to post the mix on his blog. That started a bit of following and it has grown ever since. Aaron's moved onto Tsuruphoto, following his passion for photography. He now has a nudie-zine featuring some edgy but tasteful art, several videos to promote the zine and Tsuruphoto, and the occasional mixtape. We owe a big thanks for his early support, and [...]
