The Fight Like Apes gig @ the Academy on Friday was excellent. The crowd was pretty excitable and rose to the occasion of FLApes' largest headline show as much as the band did. Every song (even the new stuff) was greeted with huge cheers, an encore was demanded, and chants of 'suplex backbreaker' echoed long after they had left the stage for good. De electronische synthpop eendagsvlieg is dan ook van een bijzonder dansbaar gehalte in combinatie met hartsmeltende teksten. Het werd eigenlijk pas echt mooi als de DJ daarna Joy Division erin knalde maar daarover meer bij een volgende eclectro weekend classic. Chico troubadour Pat Hull , along with his band, was one of the many reasons I regretted moving away from my formerly tranquil college hovel.
