It's been over a decade since Hanson gave up "MMMBop," and now the boys are all grown up. They're still putting out records too! Their latest, Shout It Out , will arrive on June 8, and the first single from the record, "Thinking 'Bout Something," is out via iTunes on April 27. The band put out a video for the song (above), which reunites them with "Weird Al" Yankovic (who directed several videos for the band in the past). Check it out above.

Hanson premiered the music video for their bright-and-bluesy new single "Thinking 'Bout Somethin'" on MySpace Music today, and it's basically a shot-by-shot remake of the song-and-dance number "Shake A Tail Feather" from the 1980 comedy-musical The Blues Brothers . Sort of an odd homage for the trio to make, considering oldest Hanson bro Isaac was born the year the movie was released in theatres, but we're not complaining. Check out the dancetastic vid below—and watch out for the groovy (albeit random) Weird Al Yankovic cameo! Hanson - "Thinking [...]
I work in a place that's got a nuclear policy bent, and my week at work has been frenzied thanks to President Obama's nuclear security summit. In honor of the assembled leaders' pledge to corral loose nuclear material, I thought it would be fun to put together a nuclear playlist - enjoy! Nena, "99 Red Balloons" The Watchmen movie did a respectable job of setting the stage with nuclear tension by including this ditty by German pop band Nena, which tells a story of 99 balloons floating into [...]

It's been 13 years since "MmmBop" took over the airwaves and the collective hearts of America's teens, and yet when most people hear of Hanson nowadays, that's all they can think of (if they even know who the flaxen-haired brother trio is). Well, we think we need to retire the "MmmBop" references, because these boys have grown over the years—not only are Taylor, Isaac and Zac all married with kids, they're about to release their eighth studio album Shout It Out , due June 8. PopEater premiered the band's new single "Thinking 'Bout Somethin'," which [...]

Given the soul-crushing cascade of tween wannabes churning out monotonous pop junk for young audiences lately, we have plenty reason to fear for the future of America's music taste. But we're not worried. Why? Because in 2007, Yo Gabba Gabba debuted on the air. The colorful, happy-go-lucky (and pretty trippy) Nick Jr. program was originally intended for a pre-school demographic, but has adopted a huge following among grown-up music fans by booking offbeat acts to perform on the show—from Weezer to Sean Kingston to more quirky fare like The Aquabats (which, not so coincidentally, is the [...]

Pop-rockers-gone-indie Hanson will release their fifth album, Shout It Out , on June 8th on their own 3CG label. The album pays tribute to the music that inspired the brothers when they were just starting out and was recorded in a studio on a 2,000-acre pecan farm in El Paso, Texas. Shout It Out features special guests including Funk Brothers bassist Bob Babbitt, who played on some of Motown's greatest hits, as well as horn arranger Jerry Hey, who worked with Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Earth, Wind and Fire and many more. [...]
Sure The Runaways rock, but they weren't WEIRD .

Rolling Stone readers recently voted the experimental Bob Dylan tribute I'm Not There as their favorite rock biopic of all time , but if Weird: The Al Yankovic Story was an actual movie instead of a spot-on Funny or Die parody, we think they'd be singing a different, accordion-infused tune. After the jump, watch the trailer for the funniest biopic of a fallen music legend never made, starring Breaking Bad 's Aaron Paul as Weird Al and Olive Wilde as his hot-and-heavy lover Madonna. (And yes, the actual Al Yankovic makes a cameo [...]
A trailer parodying the rise and fall of a true rock icon: "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Weird Al Yankovic: Mr. Frump in the Iron Lung [ purchase ] Sometimes when I see the theme for a given week here at the Machine, a rush of creativity hits me and my head is filled with songs. I'm overcome with insightful and poignant things to say and songs to fulfill those thoughts. With a theme like this, you would think this would be one of those times. [...]

Filed under: The Hit List In the 1990s, MTV and MuchMusic had everyone glued to the tube to catch the latest gnarly clip from Nirvana or TLC or Guns n' Roses . Sometimes that produced good things like Radiohead 's 'Just.' Sometimes it produced, well, anything by Color Me Badd . And sometimes we got to laugh our collective heads off. Here are the top 10 funny music videos of the 1990s, from the exceptionally cheesy to the comically genius. [...]

I popped into the city library in Limerick yesterday and was quite saddened to see the above notice prominently displayed on the counter of the library's music section. Now, it wasn't the content of the notice that got to me as I am fully aware that the music contained on the CDs that I borrow does not belong to me and that I only have the use of it for a certain period of time. No, there were two things about the sign that upset me. Firstly, it is also illegal for members of the library to photocopy substantial portions [...]

Frances Bean Cobain didn't exactly finish out the last decade with a smile on her face. Four years after Courtney Love regained custody of Frances Bean following an alleged 2003 Oxycontin overdose , Courtney lost custody of the 17-year-old Frances Bean again in late December of last year. A few days later, Frances Bean filed a restraining order against her wayward mother. Needless to say, Christmas at the Cobain/Love household must've been a bummer . Luckily, it looks as if Frances is already busying herself to avoid [...]

If there is a surefire way to make yourself feel your age, hearing the news Francis Bean Cobain is to make her singing debut on an upcoming Amanda Palmer project has got to be it. Anyone old enough to remember the early 90s will find this equally intriguing and surreal, while those younger have no idea who I am talking about. Either way, the rock and roll royalty's vocals aren't even the most interesting aspect of this story! According to TwentyFourBit , March 30th will mark the release of a collaborative album from Dresden Dolls' [...]
