THIS WEEK'S BEST BET: The Kills w/ JEFF the Brotherhood, Hunters Wednesday, February 1 The Masquerade - 695 North Avenue in Atlanta 30308 Admission $20 / Purchase Tickets You'd think that Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince would have run out of ideas by now. After all their, set-up is so simple—just some guitars and a drum machine cranking out punchy, pop-infused blues jams. But over the course of their four studio albums and four EPs, the duo have managed to turn their decidedly [...]

It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are just a few of the songs that would get their own individual posts here on GIMME TINNITUS if I only had the time. You can stream (and scrobble ) all the songs in this mix using the ex.fm player at the bottom of the page OR you can just download any or all of the tracks at your leisure and play them using a digital media player of your [...]
Tweet You haven't heard from me about the band in Heaven for nigh-on nine months now, and you might not have even heard about them at all, so for those of you who fall int that category here's what you need to know. A duo from Florida, they use their craft to bundle up snappy and harmonious firecrackers that sound as though they're being let loose via burning amps. If that sounds like your bag then check out my intro piece [...]
Being Scottish and living in the U.S. it's guaranteed that people will make fun of my accent, but it's also guaranteed I'm gonna make fun of theirs too. At a point of frustration or when something happens that they kinda wish hadn't, people here will say "Awww man", but to me it sounds more like "Awwww meeyaannn". Why the fuck am I telling you this? Because when the band in Heaven's demos had stopped playing on their Bandcamp page I let out a legit "Meyan", it was just that good (I'm finished writing this post now but going [...]

The Band in Heaven are a dirty duo from Florida keen to noisy shoegaze tunes. All we know is that they are offering a few demo songs on their BandCamp page and that they've just released a split tape with Weird Wives . But then again, Weird Wives are also from Florida and they are the noisy/punk side project of Surfer Blood (featuring 3 of their 5 members)! Now it all makes sense. You can find their split tape here , which will soon be available from Worker Bee Records. I love it when it all [...]

A while back, we talked up an up-and-coming shoegaze duo by the name of Band in Heaven . They have a digital EP floating around the internet, and they've just laid two tracks from it on a new split with the band Weird Wives . The band is a side-project from the boys in Surfer Blood , and can only be described as being a mutant piece of grunge punk. On the two tracks they bring to this split, the band showcases some rough guitars and creepy vocals. "Wet Blanket" trudges [...]

MALE BONDING - YEAR'S NOT LONG Patriotism is completely redundant, but it's difficult not to feel somewhat proud of Male Bonding. After traipsing round the London scene for a fair while, they were picked up by Sub Pop a while ago and now they're one of pitchfork's darlings. On top of that, their music hasn't really suffered either, as this track shows. [ download from pitchfork ] WEIRD WIVES - WHEN DOVES CRI Surfer Blood [...]
