Its no secret that Santana's 1999 guest-heavy album Supernatural helped expose the guitar legend to a brand new audience - selling an astounding 15 million copies along the way. While the axeman has revisited the format on his last two studio releases, his latest record will take a similar route, but with a twist as Carlos will put out an album chock full of classic rock covers. Joining the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer will be a diverse roster of artists including Nas on AC/DC's Back In [...]

TRENT REZNOR's NEW BAND: HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS I'd have to say I'm super excited for the up coming EP from Trent's new band, How to Destroy Angels . I'm a long time NIN and Trent fan, and I'm pumped to see him doing something new after the end of NIN. Teaming up with his wife, Mariqueen Maandig from West Indian Girl , I think the new track definitely is representative of Trent's typical style. I was slightly disappointed, however, because it's basically the mellow, new age NIN with a female voice. I hope to [...]

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, West Indian Girl may be named after an infamous strain of LSD but their music doesn't require such consumption. Whether one's mind is enhanced by such chemicals, West Indian Girl deliver when it comes to their celestial brand of dream-pop. If you're a hookah enthusiast, their music may serve quite well as a soundtrack. Recently, the band made headlines not for its music, but for the departure of and marriage of singer, Mariqueen Maandig to Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The band was sent [...]

My favorite playlist was entitled "Blogs," which contained tracks from blogs that I was following at the time: My Old Kentucky Blog, Aquarium Drunkard, I Am Fuel, You Are Friends, Some Velvet Blog, Gorilla Vs. Bear, The Late Greats and Berkeley Place. Good stuff. West Indian Girl - To Die In LA The Black Angels - Black Grease The Ponys - Fall Inn Alela Diane - Pieces Of [...]

Filed under: News , New Music Contrary to past statements, Trent Reznor says he's planning to continue making music under the Nine Inch Nails moniker. Reznor shared the news with fans -- who have pondered the band's fate since it retired from touring last fall -- in a holiday greeting posted on his official website late last week. "2010 has a number of things planned including new material from Nine Inch Nails and something else that isn't Nine Inch Nails," Trent wrote. [...]
I honestly don't remember how I first learned about West Indian Girl , but I'm glad I did. This band hails from the City of Angels and apparently takes their name from a type of lysergic acid (LSD) that was popular in the early 60 or so says their artist bio on lala. They have a psychedelic electro rock feel and the male vocals remind me of Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon. Check out the rest of their music and Francis Ten the bass players sweet blog which you can find on their site. [...]
No, Trent Reznor won't be fucking you like an animal anytime soon: he has apparently tied the knot with some chick named Mariqueen Maandig, formerly of a band I've never heard of called West Indian Girl. A half-dozen reader e-mails pointed me to Pink is the New Blog, where photos from the wedding have been [...]
