Holiday weekend people. Use it. Looking for to !!!? Looking forward to Behind the Candelabra? F1 at Monaco? I featured a sweet evolving track from When Saint Go Machine as part of an IT Dept post so very long ago. That track was awesome, this one is just as good. "Iodine" lacks the quirky intro, but it has the breaks of sweet synths and waveforms running rampant under the fluttering vocal. Infinity Pool lands May 28.

This week has been particularly fun in terms of the finds made on the net, so this playlist is dedicated to sharing those gems. To my delight, a handful of the bands featured here happen to come from London-based Ample Play Records, one I’ll surely have my eye on in future. I hope you enjoy discovering this music as much as I did. If you enjoy a particular band (or several), seek them out on Facebook, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, iTunes or wherever you get your sonic goodies – and support their creations! [...]

Denmark… it’s something in the water over there. They just know how to create better music than the rest of us. "Get inside, and light it, see cash/ Cross your legs, break your neck." So trills When Saints Go Machine's Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild during Love And Respect – the Killer Mike-featuring opener to their third full-length record, Infinity Pool . We're diving in at the deep end; joining the great Danish eccentrics on another voyage across the bedazzling spectrum of pop surreality. But as the album ignites, has it taken a turn for the darker, and indeed more oppressive as the lead single appears to suggest? With lyrics of snapped rachides [...]
:) Assim a
It’s Friday, which means we're preparing for the inaugural Flavorwire staff trivia contest (really), and also that we are, as ever, rounding up the best songs we’ve heard this week. This week we adored new tracks from Liars, Julianna Barwick, and Scott & Charlene's Wedding, marveled at the fact that Giorgio Moroder is soundtracking a Google Chrome racing game, enjoyed atmospheric goodness from oOoOO and When Saints Go Machine, got all morose with another new track from The National, and plenty more. All this goodness is streaming now, and it all awaits you after the jump. [...]
