"This song is like the grim reaper surfing a wave with a 10-foot shark in the crest of the wave following the grim reaper's every move" - Singer Mickey Church White Arrows - Get Gone Fans of Reptar & Givers (Jessie for sure) will really enjoy this song from Los Angeles band White Arrows. It's the title track from the album Get Gone now available on iTunes. via STOVEMAN drink the kool aid:

I am falling in love with the new single from LA’s White Arrows . “Get Gone” is synthed up indie rock at it’s finest. With a memorable hook, and pyschotic synths that will will pump blood through your system. The breathy melody and the pounding drums near the close really make this become of the best tracks I have heard recently. Part of the reason this is sounding so good (besides the wondrous amount of handclaps), is because this was produced by none other than remix champion RAC. I’m warning you that you will not be able to listen [...]

It's a fantabulous Friday: ► Back in April, Eastern Conference Champions (that Joshua Ostrander, pictured) released one of our favorite albums of the year, "Speak-Ahh." The trio warms up for a trip overseas with a date at the Satellite, supported by Duniven and Warships . ► Surfer Blood , with a new EP "Tarot Classic" on the way Oct. 25, heads up a big lineup at the Echoplex, with a trio of L.A. bands — Wounded Lion , Dante vs. Zombies and Hands . I'm doing your work and calling myself for sleeping on the new(ish) single released in advance of White Arrows' forthcoming debut LP via Ooh La La Records. After digging through all of their covers... Listen At BIRP!

"Get Gone" from White Arrows sounds like a mix of Miike Snow and Vampire Weekend mushed together, which produces a rather pleasing sonic treat. "Coming or Going" is a bit more upbeat and dance-able. White Arrows - Get Gone White Arrows - Coming or Going White Arrows by WHITEARROWS

Looking for something fresh and right out of the box? White Arrows are more than worth checking out - they're blowing my mind as we speak. Their latest track "Get Gone" was produced by RAC and has that flair we just keep coming back for. The track itself was released on September 6, 2011 as part of a 73 with a B side of Fleetwood Mac’s “Save Me A Place”. Ooh La La Records has their hands on quite an entrancing project with White Arrows. [...]
. Mother Falcon - "Fireflies" [mp3] Like an upbeat Quick Said The Bird, Mother Falcon are incredibly talented musicians who understand the importance of being part of a whole. Nothing escapes from the ether yet at the same time every note in this song is incredible. The vocal round-about does me in more than any [...]

Checking out a new track from White Arrows , a RAC produced song called" Get Gone" which will officially be released on Sept. 6th as a 73 (via Ooh La La Records ) alongside an entrancing cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Save Me A Place". Look for them on the road in the fall with The Naked and Famous . White Arrows - Get Gone by WHITEARROWS
I can only imagine how much fun it is to hear this new White Arrows track live. With its groovy lo-fi synthy backbeat, twinkling keyboards, lovely guitar licks and handclaps-a-go-go , it is built to make people dance out their troubles. The L.A. quintet is wrapping up a tour with Those Darlins and Chik Chik [...]

Check out some photos and my review of Weezer at the Fantasy Springs Special Event Center over at OC Weekly .

Things seem to be happening all of a sudden for White Arrows , the up and coming Los Angeles band. Yup! Why are you gonna love it? It's infectious, try not to. Hand claps are and will always&forever be fun and if you know much about the authors of the muffin, you know we are likely to happily lose our minds in the swirly and synthy bounce of modern music. The sound that White Arrows has comfortably nailed with this latest release serves to further justify my love affair with a drum machine [...]

Looking for something to do this coming Thursday? The super intimate Bootleg Theater will be rocking out to the spasmic sounds of LA natives White Arrows . Their new single "Get Gone" has made the sound of artificial handclapping sound more fun than ever before. Combining pulsing synth lines over plucky guitars and vocals with an attitude, it's sure to be a real crowd pleaser. The song will be released as a 7" single off Ooh La La Records on September 6th. The show, this Thursday August 25th, is only 8 dollars, so why not end the summer months [...]

Formed in Los Angeles, the White Arrows' story seems like it could have been written by one of the city's many screenwriters. Mickey Schiff was born legally blind, and spent his childhood sharpening his auditory senses and teaching himself music. Suddenly, at age 11, Schiff amazingly gained sight, and his world came alive in a burst of Technicolor light. After studying ritualistic shamanism at NYU, Mickey returned to L.A. to start White Arrows with brother Henry Schiff and childhood friend J.P. Caballero. However, unbeknownst to the brothers then, J.P. was literally family, courtesy of a sperm donation by his [...]

White Arrows is no stranger to Kick Kick Snare. The guys are back with this RAC-produced track that will be officially released on September 6th as a 7” on Ooh La La Records, along with the entrancing cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Save Me A Place” as the b-side. "Get Gone" hits a fuzzy spot in my heart that's been racing ever since hearing the crack of the starter's pistol again. The lyrics are guiding and about half the tempo of the beat, yet still locked in sync and without question heading the listener in the right [...]

Honestly though this is the best song you'll hear today, even if it's a bit on the older side in blog timelines (it came to the Web about a month ago), but it's another example how the guys of White Arrows make infectious and enjoyable little morsels of hand-clapping indie pop that are as undeniably fun as they are inevitably quite simple. There's nothing high-reaching here on "Get Gone", but whatever. Just enjoy having fun for a few minutes, and go back to nay-saying that sort of attitude in other people right afterward. [...]

The summer concert fun is never over until you've wiped the butter from your chin. Which is to say that the Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival is approaching — the three day event is Sept. 16, 17 and 18, and the lineup, again curated by ex-Indie 103.1 music director Mark Sovel , offers some of the best local bands around playing an outdoor stage at Ports O'Call Village in San Pedro. After kicking off Friday night with the triple-headliner bill of White Arrows , Andy Clockwise and the Fling , [...]
Early in their L.A. infancy, White Arrows were slapped with the "electro Strokes" tag, not an entirely inaccurate shorthand for their wiry, synth-addled garage rock. But judging from their new single "Get Gone," they're evolving toward something distinctly their own. Here, White Arrows let the synths and beats (rather than the guitars) scratch the itch, and frontman Mickey Schiff sings like a guy who favors print shirts (which he does) and not leather jackets. ||| Stream: "Get Gone": ||| Live: White Arrows open for Weezer on [...]

Roaring into the weekend: ► Thurston Moore and Kurt Vile do their second sold-out night at the Troubadour. ► Nashville indie-blues quartet the Features (pictured) — their new album "Wilderness" cementing a place in our playlists — headline the Satellite, with Oh Darling opening. ► Speaking of darlings, Those Darlins play the Echo, with White Arrows and Motopony supporting. ► The 14th annual International Pop Overthrow kicks off two weeks of shows around L.A. showcasing [...]
