ceo is the blossoming solo project of Eric Burglund of The Tough Alliance. His songs are awash with hazy synth melodies. On the nebulous "Come With Me," Burgland invites the listener to explore "a place I call reality." It's certainly a worthwhile invitation. Listen to "Come With Me" off the album White Magic .

On Saturday, April 23rd, Cinefamily and Cinespia in conjuction with MOCA's Art in the Streets project presented at the Natural History Museum an advance screening of Werner Herzog's new film shot in 3-D, Cave of Forgotten Dreams . Herzog himself was in attendance to answer audience questions about the film. Dublab and Mastodon Mesa were on hand with site-specific installations around the museum. For me, ceo 's "White Magic" was an unexpected and underrated 28 minutes of electronically-driven Indie-Pop. It was critically acclaimed from here to Timbuktu, but not enough people heard it as far as I'm concerned. Just last week he upped one of the best covers of the year when he did Beyonce's "Halo" , and now he's gone and upped the video for one of the best tracks from the album, "Illuminata". We recently reviewed ceo's debut album White Magic with a mixed bag of emotions (others feel stronger about it). And sure, while ceo definitely plays into a lot of the musical trends lately with his "chillwave" attitude, that's not to say that White Magic is a poor album.
