Cory Thomas Hanson, aka W-H-I-T-E, makes aerial electronic pop, as evidenced but the simmering shimmer of his "I Wasn't Afraid." Its accompanying clip is beautiful and bizarre - a continuous frame of leather gloved-hands going through a range of vaguely S&M tasks but in a completely safe for work way. Check out the video and download the track below. Read More...

Austin’s Max Frost has created the catchiest song about cheating maybe ever on “White Lies”. The sly funky track has a very distinct Electric Guest/Broken Bells sound going on, leading to the proclamation that this should only be played in speakeasys that still like to pretend that prohibition is around. Stay tuned for the video soon.

From Brooklyn via Boston comes Dirty Fences and their latest track "White Lies" off their recently released full-length Too High To Kross . I can’t help wondering if the spelling of the album title bears any homage to Red Kross, a band from whom Dirty Fences draws influence, along with CBGB’s-era Stooges and Johnny Thunders. And it might be just me, but I detect more than a smidgen of KISS tossed in for good measure. Given that, Dirty Fences still delivers their very own take [...]
‘Ello, loves! It’s been a while, but the music hasn’t stopped. Here’s a few to ring in the spring and prep for the summer. 1. Fossil Collective – “Let It Go”/ Tell Where I Lie This indie/folk band from Leeds ... Read More

Matthew E. White Sunday 21st April | Thekla, Bristol Words by Thomas Spooner When I first heard Matthew E White's Big Inner I got over-excited. It had been a while since I'd heard a man whisper so sweetly over such seriously soulful grooves. I listened to it some more and the hooks went deeper – flesh, muscle, cartilage, bone, heart – as this music subtly tore its way into my being. Then I got around to listening to the lyrics [...]
Naturally, with a new recording of their debut single, "The City," it would only be a matter of time until The 1975 put out a second video for the track as well. Filmed in their trademark seductive monochrome, the video is a fine addition to the Manchester outfit's ever-expanding CV. Watch it above. You can catch The 1975 on tour this summer with The Neighbourhood. Dates here . STREAM: The 1975 - "The City"

Take Me With You". www.principevaliente.com
Following Maison Kitsuné's time travel in the American nineties, a recurrent topic in the Spring-Summer 2013 collection, these two "Motel" prints are a kind invitation to a "Motel California" road trip! Motel 1 logo has an embossed visual effect, with a rectangular typography and a checked box, whereas Motel 2 logo is roundish, overcame by an handwritten [...]

White mans got soul! Austin-ite Max Frost has written, produced and recorded a few singles to date but this one seems to have cracked its whip at my usual Anti-Pop tirades. The 'pop-funk' melody carries a mashup of hip hop sounds, and electronica instrumentals. A Gnarles Barkley-esque tune with some D'Angelo and Broken Bells drizzled over, it becomes an instant mood-changer. If you're sitting you will probably chair dance - I warned you.

Meet Cory Thomas Hanson - the music extraordinaire that is behind the project W.H.I.T.E . Making shaken up pop music through his experimenting, Hanson's solo project is one for those of you who are heavily into dense, fanatical production. Hanson started W.H.I.T.E in the American Summer of 2008 as a solo recording project that substituted his usual Summer art school attendance. Having been around for five years, this bedroom project festooned into a big deal, as he has toured his music internationally and is set to release his third [...]

On his new single, "I Wasn't Afraid," experimental pop musician and visual artist Cory Thomas Hanson, aka W.H.I.T.E. , sounds inspired by a faraway tropical paradise. The synths shimmer with warmth like hundreds of tiny golden grains of sand and his weightless vocals float on like a salty sea breeze, making for a momentary, but dreamy summer getaway bottled up in audio form. Listen in below. "I Wasn't Afraid" is off W.H.I.T.E.'s forthcoming LP, III. A record two-and-a-half years in the making, it's due out on May [...]

He's pretty fly for a W-H-I-T-E guy. LA native Cory Thomas Hanson leads the project W-H-I-T-E. On May 28th, Aagoo Records will release his new album, III, that is seemingly the work of...

I've got some work to do. I had no idea who W-H-I-T-E was up until I received the email that contained this incredible tune. If you're not in the know either, it's the project of Cory Hanson, an LA musician who seems to have created the perfect blend of pop music. There's a heavy coat that hangs over this entire track, but the vocals are so soft and serene that you find yourself playing the song over and over again. This is what the new direction of electronic music sounds like to me, or [...]

Late last year I brought you a nice little anthemic rocker from Dirty Fences , and I almost forgot about them. That's until I received this new single to help spread the word on the release of their new LP. Their album Too High To Kross was released today by Volcom Entertainment , and I think a lot of people will really enjoy this tune. You'll find a catchy/anthemic chorus you can sing along to, but the music got this fast paced heavy grit to it, which isn't [...]
Listen While You Work 1.0 started with me saying I was trying to keep my head above water at my job. I came out yesterday in a pretty personal post saying that I wasn't going to live that way anymore. That said, I still spend many hours at work, and it's always important to have good music to listen to at work. And so comes Episode 2 of Listen While You Work. For the most part, it's a little more upbeat this time; you gotta keep you head up while ya [...]
"I Wasn't Afraid" hails from LA pop guy Cory Thomas Hanson's third album as W.H.I.T.E., called III. It's a fantastic LP, dancing quite mesmerizingly around the atmospheric styles paved by Cluster and Screamadelica, sometimes leaning ... read more

The new two-track release from Atlanta's White Woods is an insular drive through forgotten characters, darkening dust roads and small-town isolation. The sugar-sweet vocals are always more unsettling than comforting, and the sparse production plays-out like a film soundtrack dripping out of a half-broken radio. Lead track Big Talking is built around soft guitars, and captivating dual-vocals that trick, tease and seduce in equal measure. B-side Corner Town creeps through a barely-there acoustic strum, while an eerie xylophone takes hold of you, running its fingers through your fingers, begging you to stay, refusing to [...]
All sorts of into this release from Austin, TX mystery man Max Frost. I have absolutely no details on the man, other then the fact that he's from Austin and "White Lies" is owning me. It's hard to believe that this is all recorded by one man - but that's the ... Read More
