Fake Blood - Essential Mix (14.03.09) , Unmixed: Hour Two: The Afterparty 01. via Solve Sundsbo Hey there friends. It's been an amazing weekend here in Chicago. The weather is beautiful, people are smiling and biking again. It's all good. Let's listen to some music. Here's one off of the Jump Around EP that Moonbootica released in '07, with a "Jump Around" remix by Eyerer and Chopstick. Specifically, it's the instrumental remix is what I've been getting down to this afternoon. Think House of Pain for dancefloors without any mashup [...]
Y o, for real, it's the weekend and its time to shake your moneymaker (not implying y'all are strippers or whatever). I stumble across a ton of awesome remixes as I surf this information ether-highway of ours. I don't like giving them dedicated posts cause 1) not everyone is super into remixes and 2) I don't want to dilute the attention that should be given to new artists. You feel me? I knew you would. So anyway, I am starting another new feature at TBE where I round up some of the sweetest remixes of late and toss 'em at [...]

Back to business as usual. I've been listening to this one tune in particular after I found I'd kinda missed it on a record i bought a while ago. Which seems to happen a lot... I'm the worst listener. It's by Stratus and features on Eskimo 's fab Cosmic Balearic Beats collection (of which I hear there is another on the way!) which has some groovy beatage from In Flagranti, Lullabies In The Dark, Phoreski, Bottin etc etc. You may find this track drags on a bit, or you may not. For me it's just sublime the [...]

Artwork by Anne-Catherine Becker-Echivard Download: WhoMadeWho, "The Plot" (The Mole remix) [ Gomma ] Although The Mole's productions rarely step outside the comfy confines of house and techno, his often loop-centric style seems at home with less electronic source material. So our ears perked up when we heard he was joining French merrymakers Nôze and Discodeine in remixing the latest from Danish dance-punks WhoMadeWho. His thick and hoary take plays up the track's foreboding mood with scores of textural elements: shrapnel [...]

ALBUM REVIEW: WhoMadeWho - The Plot words: Jamie Milton originally scribed for gigwise Here comes a rant: Every semi-popular band out there has had their career stained ever so slightly with illegal downloading of their work. WhoMadeWho are evidently a band you can put into that category. But whether it was a collective decision or not, to place the voice of an increasingly annoying French woman over every track on ‘The Plot’s’ review copy, constantly declaring “It’s the new WhoMadeWho – do not copy, do not [...]

OK, this is a warning... You must sample/play/download/lick/fuck /etc. every song/edit/rmx that I have put into this post as it's all gold. News wise... we now have Twitter so follow us on that bad boy. I think it's social internet v3 or some shit so we may as well embrace it and not live like a dinosaur under a rock. Since this post is going to be massive, I'm going to keep the talking to a minimum, and the tunes to a maximum. RAWRRRRRR! Aeroplane are my favourite cosmic-goodness producers [...]
Time for your funky Friday to get started.I got a bunch of hot promo stuff in the inbox this week...- two tracks from Strut Records deliver the Afro-funk - Peter King from Nigeria 70 (reissued on Mar.31st) and Mulatu Astatke & The Heliocentrics from Inspiration Information Vol.3 (out Apr.14th).- two cool remixes from My Dear Disco, who bring the dance rock flava to Kanye West and Franz Ferdinand.
WhoMadeWho got remixed proper. I'm such a bad blogger right now, but Gomma said: This new single features two deep but smashing house remixes by Parisian Noze and Canadian super-producers The Mole (Border Community). The original is a WhomadeWho typical rock disco anthem that will get singalong audiences all over the world for sure. WhoMadeWho - The Plot (Discodeine Remix) WhoMadeWho - The Plot (Noze Remix) WhoMadeWho - The Plot (The Mole Remix) Beats™ [...]

Denn mit The Clowns, [...]

oonce oonce oonce oonce What the hell. I finished this up a couple of days ago and it's good enough to meet myyyyyy high quality-control standards and so, to reiterate, what the hell. http://www.divshare.com/downlo ad/6888740-c6d (n.b. that you can stream this through DivShare if you don't want to download a 150mb file) 1. Well, the new WhoMadeWho album is out. I'm tempted to lie, but after my first listen I have to admit I expected something more. It's still very good but lacks the energy, chunky arrangements and quirky edge their self-titled debut had. I'm hoping on second/third/tenth listen it'll blossom into some magical tasty Danish butter cookie. But not yet. The songs that caught my ear which might be blogworthy, aside from TV Friend and The Plot, are Motown Bizarre because it's still got that classic peculiar sound, and Keep Me In My Plane which is just good solid WMW [...]

March 24th sees the release of the In Flagranti album ‘Brash & Vulgar’ (April 21st for download) Here you can check out the title track, it’s a dark electronic Disco with the typical In Flagranti vocal cuts and a storming Electro bassline. ♫ In Flagranti - Brash & Vulgar (zShare) (MediaFire) This reMix they did for WhoMadeWho has been out a while now, but it’s one of those tunes that grows on you (on me at least!). ♫ WhoMadeWho - [...]
Patrick's Weekend is fast approaching and as any music lover knows it's the best time of the year to get some serious gig-going into you and this late-night event is no different. Taking place in Crawdaddy, the Pod and the Lobby Bar is the almighty dance line-up of Sneaky Soundsystem, WhoMadeWho, South Rakkas Crew with Pablo and El Tomo of Fatty/Fatty and Disco Brasil on Monday the 16th at 11pm. Australia's Sneaky Soundsystem will be playing a three-piece DJ Set with a vocalist and MC in a stomping two hour set, Denmark's WhoMadeWho [...]

Singlen indeholder titelnummeret 'The Plot' og udgives i to versioner.

Having a bit of a Prins Thomas moment right now after finding a record of his I thought I'd lost and giving it another whirl. I was supposed to post his Force of Nature mix before I left and somehow missed putting it in the pile, so here it is belated and brilliant. Super chunky bass, hot percussion. His ability to sound like a true master of everything inbetween cosmic disco and techno is pretty impressive. Force of Nature - To The Brain (Prins Thomas Diskomiks) These are a [...]
