SF trio WHY? will be playing a trio of west coast dates later this month in anticipation for the release of its new EP, The Hollows , on Nov. 27 . Band leader Yoni Wolf will be spinning records on 11/16 for a benefit event for AIDS outreach organization Nyumbani, organized by Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart and also featuring Satomi Matsuzaki of Deerhoof. WHY?'s forthcoming full-length Alopecia will be released stateside via Anticon on March 11, 2008 and overseas on Tomlab. The band will be touring the US more heavily in early 2008, including SXSW. Why? has got a lot to live up to after Elephant Eyelash , which was easily one of the best albums from 2005 (and probably my favorite from that year).
